  1. In the past I have caught some flatties flicking plastics from the shore usually on the ocean side of the boat ramp at frothy coffee. If the water level is still up there would probably be some cream lurking around frothy coffees pylons. If you fish of an evening with bait near anywhere near trees be prepared for possums getting into your gear. Wear deet repellant as there are ticks about.
  2. Land based or in a boat? When I was up there at Christmas the lake was shut. I didn’t fish it. On previous seasons when the lake was open we did well on the whiting using nippers in the channels st the front of the lake.
  3. A lot to consider there. I think at around 5k a small second hand alloy boat or tinny is the only thing that’s going to give you a chance at having some reliabiabilty and minimal dramas. Ad for parking is putting the boat in your parking spot an option and parking the car in the street? Or find a spot consistently empty in the complex and approach the owner to rent it off him.
  4. Fishing from a boat I usually pin them through the nose.
  5. Great footage. Interesting that the piece of weed on the jig doesn’t deter that one from hitting it. Also interesting it looks like you are mostly fishing on a sandy bottom.
  6. It would be very uncommon for water to be driven under cement tiles I’d think. Unless they weren’t lapped correctly to start with.
  7. So you are saying the roof is sarked? The tiles are presumably cement if when you say refurbished you mean painted? Is it a normal looking roof pitch? As in not a low slope. Is it a single story house? Going by your description it sounds like there is no other roof or downpipes spreader putting extra water on the area. Is it a long distance between the ridge and the leak. It can be hard tracking a leak with a sarked roof and even harder when it has been repainted as the tendency is to not want to move the tiles. We have had found some with hairline cracks in a tile where the nails have been over driven cracking the tile. Inspecting it thevceack wasn’t noticeable until the tile was removed. Others have a crack, break or damage in the watercourse ( the overlap section on the bottom tile) again it needs to be removed to see on a sarked roof. I would remove a tile around the leak spot and look for water tracking marks on the sarking. Getting in the roof when it’s raining might be a starting point but it may be imposdible to see the problem with sarking.
  8. I don’t own a 1000 sized reel but due to the smaller spool diameter I doubt it would cast as far as a 2500 all other things being equal.
  9. Maybe Smasher can get his hook and leader back from her leg

    EPIRB

Even if they are out of date?

    EPIRB

I agree with Fred. If it’s worth having it’s worth having an in date one that will work when needed and the is registered to you. The one that you have some probably doesn’t have the built in GPS leaving a very large search area if it’s activated.
  12. I agree with Rick. The skin isn’t really suitable for cut baits.
  13. That’s awesome. Massive weekend for her.
  14. A couple of good fish there. It’s pretty easy to break a graphite rod especially if you high stick it or have the drag wound up tight. Id be stoked having found a snapper spot
  15. I like how that random jig goes past at the end. Im not sure if I still own any Yo-Zuri. I definately have some yamashita and Egihead and a few others but probably prefer harimitsu if I had to pick just one jig. I usually just get a few different looking jigs out and see what happens.
  16. Nice. I am planning on buying the off the shelf version. You have just confirmed my thoughts, it should help with my crap water pressure.
  17. Its going to be really tough to top that with your second post!
  18. Great report and video. Nice to see a reward for the effort. Winning
  19. When I was younger I spent much of my time building during the week ( hardwood stains the hands) and working on cars of a weekend and hitting nightclubs at night. This particular day I decided to clean my hands using OMO washing powder as I had many other days. Scrubbed the hands half way up my arms all good. I hit the local nightclub that had those irradecant UV lights. As soon as I walked in my hands were glowing white. I hastily retreated settling for drinking in the sports bar.
  20. My sense of smell is crap. So I wouldn’t know if I smell bad. The jatz crackers I’d rather .... well I better not say
  21. I usually come home wash my hands with hand soap, clean the boat so they are in the water again. Clean hands, fillet fish clean hands again. Shower and scrub my nails and hands, under nails and between fingers with a nail brush then wash my hair and use my fingers for that too. When I put the boat away I open up all the compartments and that to try and get them all dry and clean. But forget one prawn or pilchard bit and well you know the story.
  22. Mate I think you will find these articles useful. Others are in the Fishing articles section too. http://www.fishraider.com.au/article/squidding-sydney-http:// www.fishraider.com.au/article/spit-bridge-squid-night/
