  1. Very impressed! Wish we had a decent charter like you, still yet to find a good one
  2. Few jacks sit on the north wall, the fingal jetty/beach holds 1000's of tailors if you want to get amongst it. Don't know much other then that gl
  3. Wow awesome work, what type of jigs were u using, around 250g?
  4. Never lost an anchor yet! We switch when we are out to sea between sand/reef, but it's most always reef + 4 metres of chain sinks it very fast. be sure to add a bouy to your anchoring system, just drive it off the reef if it does get stuck.
  5. one of the best videos i've seen in my life
  6. We have rod holders positioned around our rails welded on as well as some in the gunnels. A rocket launcher is the best and neatest way to store rods and it keeps them out of the way! What sort of boat do you have?
  7. Sounds awesome! Id love to see a seal up close, enjoyed reading and it sounded like you had an eventful fishing trip, I love those times the most!
  8. massive kingy well done
  9. After hearing Jame's report i wasn't too convinced on today but it turned out to be a good day. Lowish wind but a bit of swell so was a bump ride out to a few spots. Overall we tried about 5 spots and caught fish at each. Caught around 20 tailor, a few sweep, a few 34cm snapper a remora! first one i've ever caught/seen close up We had about an 80-90cm cobia under our hull hanging around our bait for about 5mins ate a few of the pillies and no hook ups. A charter boat on the same reef about half n hr later pulled a big cobe on board as well, every 10 seconds or so we could hear someone keep hurling in between everyone fishing, GOTTA LOVE CHARTERS Few whales about all in all was an ok day, didn't take anything home but enjoyed the day out showing my dad the boat and he hasn't been out in years! So he loved it. At the end of the day when we were putting the boat on I miss aimed the boat and couldnt drive it on the trailer (it was packed) a few guys that were racing those inflatable boats hoped in the water and helped me and dad guide it on. WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT NICE PEOPLE STILL AROUND Hopefully will get a thumper of a fish next time.
  10. ouch not looking good for tomorrow
  11. Nice work Adz Btw i love pike/barracuda It's so good for mackeral bait
  12. Hmm i think it is a triggerfish, thought it was a toothbrush leather but triggers look like it, can you eat them? Can't find anything
  13. After studying the bar and asking locals how to cross it we were told not to cross it on a run out tide. needless to say we crossed it on the peak run out tide and it was bloody hair raising, close waves together barely had time to get the nose of boat up to hit the cap of the next wave, but after the first 100 metres we flew out @ 30knots to 9mile (8kms out to sea), was 10-15knot winds, swell rose and was around 1.5 metres, got choppy and had hard time producing bites even though the sounder was going nuts. Got my first ever 2 leather jackets in NSW! never got one in qld before. Needless to say i now know how they got their name, got a few smaller squire and a very large moses perch (45cm) and a few bits of fish here and there on the closer bombies near cook island, had a close call with a wave off fidos. Had a bit of a crack on the bait grounds but to no avail. Hard day to produce fish especially since its the first time testing some gps marks and working our way on the new areas. But very enjoyable, say about 8 whales in close proximity, 3 pods of 50+ dolphins in each pack and a few turtles. AND A FLYING FISH, turned to the side of the boat to see this flying about 1 metre from me and it turned around and flew with the wind, couldn't stop laughing, first time i've ever seen one HOW DO YOU COOK LEATHERJACKETS?! or are they only good for crab bait.
  14. What a stuff up, glad you still got out for a fish after all of that. Had one of those days about a month ago, left fish finder/gps @ home 1.5 hrs away, (3 hrs return trip) so we just came home and had maccas for breakfast
  15. Three bulls heard via the grapevine that the rancher was going to bring Yet another bull onto the ranch, and the prospect raised a discussion Among them. First Bull: "Boys, we all know I've been here 5 years. Once We settled our differences, we agreed on which 100 of the cows would be Mine. Now, I don't know where this newcomer is going to get HIS cows, But I aint' givin' him any of mine." Second Bull: "That pretty much says It for me, too. I've been here 3 years and have earned my right to the 50 cows we've agreed are mine. I'll fight 'im till I run him off or kill 'im, but I'M KEEPIN' ALL MY COWS." Third Bull: "I've only been here a Year, and so far you guys have only let me have 10 cows to "take care Of." I may not be as big as you fellows (yet) but I am young and virile, So I simply MUST keep all MY cows." They had just finished their big Talk when an eighteen-wheeler pulls up in the middle of the pasture with Only ONE ANIMAL IN IT: the biggest Son- of-Another-Bull these guys had ever seen! At 4700 pounds, each step he took toward the ground strained the steel ramp to the breaking point. First Bull: "Ahem ... You know, it's actually been some time since I Really felt I was doing all my cows justice, anyway. I think I can spare a few for our new friend." Second Bull: "I'll have plenty of cows to take care of if I just stay on the opposite end of the pasture from HIM. I'm certainly not looking for an argument." They look over at their Young friend, the 3rd bull, and find him pawing the dirt, shaking his Horns, and snorting. First Bull: "Son, let me give you some advice real Quick. Let him have some of your cows and live to tell about it." > > > Third Bull: "Sh!t, he can have ALL my cows. I'm just making sure he knows I'm A bull!!

  20. Just read up on them they are called slam baits and are not due to be released until September 08 Similar design to gulps but they claim to induce feeding frenzies by using a pheromone or something. Not too sure on it but alot of hype of the product.... can be bought overseas already, so read up on them.
  21. They looked exactly like the 7inch jerk shades in that pink colour. I heard him say that 2 and was pretty sure it was a gulp jerk shade, but wasn't too sure. Anyway if you find out let me know
