Hmmmmmm yes I have a very good "thing" on this site. It is called "members" some of whom are very good at pointing out to me. The "stewy" feature is fairly accurate too. He can normally walk past my screen and say "that was caught at xxx by xxx a few years ago on a blah blah rod.

Surprise Catch...A Mid North Coast Bonefish! North Coast angler Luke Giovanetti (pictured) submitted this interesting catch to the Department! This bonefish (Albula glossodonta) was recently caught in the Coffs Harbour region at the mouth of one of the local estuaries. Luke got quite a surprise when this fish ate a lure that was intended for a mulloway or flathead. The fish ripped off more than 100m of line on its initial run and took over half an hour to land. Despite the battle, the fish was released in good condition. On light tackle, this fish truly is a trophy catch! Bonefish occur sporadically in northern and central Queensland and are widespread throughout the Indo Pacific region as far east as the Cook Islands. They inhabit inshore coastal waters and are most likely found across shallow sand and mud flats. They are easily identified due to their streamlined shape and bright silvery-white body. They also have an “underslung” jaw, which is perfectly designed for foraging around the flats. Indo Pacific Bonefish are a popular sportfish, particularly for fly fishers who’ll often travel to remote places like the Cook Islands or Kiribati to target them. They are renowned for being challenging to catch. Research suggests that they can obtain sizes up to 90cm and 8kg but are more commonly found around the 2kg mark. Historically, there have been reported catches as far south as Port Hacking, but they are considered rare anywhere south of Fraser Island. Did you know Redmap is a ‘citizen science’ project that invites fishers and the community to share sightings of marine species that are ‘uncommon’ to their local seas. Well I enjoyed the whole weekend really. We watched the AFL grand final on Sat and it was such a great battle. I have never followed or really understood it but I may follow it next year! It was my birthday on Sat and my daughters took me to see "Tina the musical" at the matinee session on Sunday. After we returned from Tina we watched the NRL girls game and my fav team Newcastle Knights won. The game last night was so fantastic. I am a Souths supporter and swordie a Bulldog fan so we went for Penrith. @Isaac Ct I almost did what your Dad did but persisted. As some of you know I have run a fishraider tipping comp for the last 16 years on here. Finally I won the tipping comp yippee. I hope more join in next year, its fun and no money involved. It was in 2010 Bob. There is a massive post on here that I read when I was able to. It must have been the fishraider members all sending prayers and well wishes that helped me through. I have managed to see my 2 daughters finish degrees and become an excellent teacher and an excellent registered nurse, one got married and produced my first granchild. Many other milestones have been met. Hope you are improving @Pickles and well done to Julie towing all the way back.

Yes and we have a kitchen sink as well @Yowie When we did a lap swordie spent months and months ordering "stupid bits and pieces". The delivery people knew us well I complained bitterly until we had to use these things One time in WA we went out onto a beach and when we decided to return over the sand dunes. I said take that track and he took another. You can guess what happened. Out came some of the "stupid bits and pieces" and the "orange recovery track things" and we got back onto hard ground again!! We have helped many others with our bits and pieces too. Tyres for car and van we have spent $$$ changing these regularly. @Fab1 kind of you to offer to help this chap.

Good park to stay at Norm. Park is fully fenced and you get a code to use to go out pedestrian gates. It is perfect for kayaking and fishing usually. Last time we stayed there we got nothing in our tinny though! There is a boat ramp on-site. Go across to the Windang Bowling Club (Club Windang) for dinner. Our ensuite site was huge and fitted caravan, boat and car.

Oh dear so sorry to hear that @Pickles I can actually sympathise with you on that injury. I had a cardiac arrest and swordie saved my life with immediate CPR. He was vigorous and I had 6 fractured ribs. I could not even open a jar of vegemite without pain. You need to rest in a nice recliner for a while until it all heals. That is an outstanding result for the dog considering Rosie was missing her handler. I am sure raiders will give you some good reports to read while you convalesce Bob.
