  1. hello raiders , i have been trying to find the canals and drains on the Parramatta river without any luck , is there a map that i can look up on google that you are aware off ? i don't have a car to drive around in so it difficult to get around , the reason im looking is so that i can locate spots that may hold green weed for luderick , thank you all
  2. the fish look amazing must taste good !
  3. always good to read you reports , love to see Finnish BBQ and smoked fish.
  4. i never fish for them , occasionally i hook the odd one, but what i really love is how they increased the bag limits for lobster , now the 1% of amateurs that fish for them can all take an extra one home if they actually do catch 3 legal lobsters in a pot ,
  5. thats what i call i fish of a life time , congratulations
  6. interesting how they were on the bite before daylight but nothing was biting during the day ,what size hooks were you using to get these whiting please Yowie?
  7. hi mate , sorry about the huge photo that's all i could find , winter can be quite challenging and some days impossible to get a bite in the harbour , you really have to try really hard to bring them on the bite , no matter what your targeting that is , if you are after baitfish and the only thing available is on the bottom you must use the paternoster rig with one of these burley cages and some weight in it, stick a bit of sardine and prawn heads with some old bread , the sardine and prawn is for the oil and the smell, the bread is something that will bring them around because it will break up a bit , use 3 hooks 12 or smaller for the smallest baitfish that are there and one size 8 for the leaterjackets if you are trying to catch some of those also , Dorry will take a big bait but the best bait are the smallest baitfish you can find, in order to keep the bait from snagging somewhere you have to use heavy main lines with a heavy sinker that stops them from swimming all over the place , also use a meter trace no more then 20lb so that is the only thing that will break off is the trace if it does get caught somewhere , when you lower the baitfish to the bottom make sure that you sinker is about a metre and a half of the bottom this way it does not get snagged, some wharfs will work better then others for Dorry , i find that they dont like hunting in strong currents , so places like the piers will work best take a kid with you and set up 6 lines/rods for them , this way you can increase your chance of finding one or two, keep on trying and you will find them
  8. amazing catch ! wish i could taste pike one day

  17. no bush between the (shaft )and the actual roller , need to clean and lube this reel after every time i use it by the look of it , thank you for the advice
  18. no its not , it just feels this way , i soaked it in vinegar and that did clean some of the stuff of it , i ended up wrapping the roller in chux cloth and used long nose pliers to loosen it ..it worked , there is no bush just a roller straight on a shaft if that makes sense , looks like i have to clean it every time i use it , thanks for all your advice ,
  19. i would be very happy with that many
  20. good luck to you , i hope you do find them and when you do please share the photos , also love to see the catch cooked .
