  1. Congrats Jeff, the above is all you can ask for. Team sports at that age teaches them lots of life skills, team work, social skills plus instills competitiveness, sportsmanship(or sportswomenship😁) & how you can get knocked down at times but what it takes to get back up again & keep going. Hope they keep at it & enjoy it if that's what they choose to do.
  2. Stefan last visited this site on February 22, 2016 so I doubt he will be watching this thread from 2010. Still you could send him a PM & he may get back to you??
  3. I use salt-away as well, I usually do the motor flushing, boat. trailer & all the gear I have used for the day all in one go.
  4. It might work but how's the smell though 🤢
  5. Something to think about when its council election time! If your not happy with your council just like your other reps then vote them out!!
  6. I thought rather than just showing a link to a story it would be good to have some maps of actual areas affected. So far I can only find the one for PS, they should be making it easier for people to find the information imo! If other raiders find the rest of the locations in map form can they please throw them up
  7. As far as I can ascertain they weren't fishing so didn't need to be wearing a jacket! Maybe they should include the rest of the public in their policies!!
  8. Some garlic butter, on the grill, with a glass of white. To good to be bait 😁
  9. That is something that I have been looking forward to seeing. A showcase of a history & also a vision for the future. While I don't need any new gear right now my next reel purchase will be one of their spinning models. They look every bit as good or if not better than anything coming out of Japan or anywhere else by foreign companies! I am just glad these guys didn't go under but we all need to support local industry here so hope we all get behind them & also that much needed export market opens new doors for them.
  10. WOW, that is an amazingly detailed bit of timber & obviously it should never see the sea. With anything commemorative its all about keeping it in its original state imo but that's where the appreciation is not it its use but the history. Again not that I have the spare coin atm but cant even find where to try & get one 😥 A very cool bit of gear to have in the cabinet & keep for the next couple of generations 😀
  11. The tool kit is cool. The reel looks recently lacquered & a bit heavy as well. Could be the angle of the pic?
  12. I recon there would be plenty of debris coming down the rivers atm so Id be very careful!
  13. Would be great to be able to sendNSW coastal rain towards the storage areas & the outback areas but that's not how gravity works. You would think there are some extremely intelligent brains out there working on this & many problems we have but I don't care what party you support they are all pretty much self preservationist tools! Our federal governments work in 3 year terms & they just really only care about how they can talk there way into re election...……...talk not much action!!
  14. That's a cracking snapper for inside the bay. Well done 👌
  15. Its very possible to have both units plugged into a PC & just transfer data from one hard drive to another. Things like mobiles, transfers can be done with the right program, I just used smart switch to transfer all my apps & data from a 6 year old phone to a new one & the process only took 10 minutes, all done via wifi but same brand of phone also But anyway dealing with 3rd party software is more complicated than it needs to be for a job like this. SD card is by far easier. YouTube is your friend!
  16. Anything electronic with data these day should be backed up in some way. And it never hurts to even have a back up of the back up if its important enough!
  17. It's a bit hard to give an answer not knowing the model you have & it's ability to be able to transfer data plus the one your getting. If they can do a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi between them then go for it BUT always have a back up so yes, transfer all your waypoints onto an SD card before attempting in case something goes wrong.
  18. That all sound fair to me mate Yet it only takes 1 to make it near impossible for the rest to have a fair go. A bit like driving in Sydney traffic, someone always thinks they have special privileges!
  19. Ross, stoked for you on your 1st Jew. Anyway good things to actually make it a report would be to give some more details like general area & maybe gear used, otherwise its something better posted in here- https://www.fishraider.com.au/forum/16-brag-board/ Reports are supposed to help out the rest of the community not just showcase your catch.
  20. Always, its the only way to bring it in! Well not sure what you refer to a trip rope but I call it a retrieve line, same thing essentially. Attached to the back & I set mine to just be only a little longer to the length of the sea anchor mail line which is at a set length.
  21. The problem then is the chute/rope can come into play as well but hey its great thinking, worth trying & it will get you away from the mob. On the sea anchor if people don't have one but thinking about it Id get one that's at least double the size rating for your vessel, I got one that if for up to 21ft for my 13ft tinny & it only just does the job in 15-20knt winds. Great bit of gear for the price!!
  22. Plenty of the same sort of threads already exist, just use the search tab to find them. In this thread there is a land based google map, check that out! Good luck.
