  1. Top job. Love the video and the catch. Thanks for sharing. cheers Zoran
  2. Hey Donna, I'd like to submit the attached awesome catch in the Bait Fishing Record - SP category ... This one was caught in Sydney, at the popular 3 letter place, located mid chop, just around the bargain bin reef, on a plastic card shaped jig. It put up quite a fight but I got it to the register side for an accurate weigh in. Not sure if I will now use it whole or take fillets off each side for bait. Cant's share any more details about this record catch as I don't want @Yowie to beat me .... literally ! 🙄 Cheers Zoran PS - thought @Fab1 @GoingFishing and @Scratchie might be interested in this awesome SP catch ... whiskas watch out !
  3. Well as I said I may have misread the report but it’s the one where 4 of them ended up in the water hanging on to eskies .... maybe they were too close to Scratchie’s whiskas drift 🤔 cheers Zoran
  4. Bear in mind that you may need to have some way of allowing for air expansion as the trailer sits in the hot sun, the trapped air inside will expand - if its completely air tight it may well blow out the sikaflex/grommet seal. Cheers Zoran
  5. Absolutely first class report and top fish Sam ... a worthy adversary to blood the reel. Congrats on your PB. BTW, how's your dad feel about trolling now ? Cheers Zoran PS - I read somewhere Scratchie knows what to do with spearos that get in the way? ... or did I misread that post...
  6. As KC sad above there are systems that will do whatever you dream of. You are going to have to hardwire in a Bluetooth monitor system to each of your batteries . Then you better hardwire in something to keep your phone/tablet device charged to read the Bluetooth signal. Now that’s 3 devices that need to be hardwired. Or you can hardwire 1 or 2 volt meters that tells you the state of the battery ( or batteries) that are online. it comes down to what are you most concerned about?? Cheers Zoran ps - I have 1 volt meter on my dash that tells me the voltage state of the battery(ies) I have online. If the voltage drops below 11v When cranking the motor I know there is a battery problem. It also shows me the voltage when the motor is running - if that is >13.6V I know my batteries are being charged. When motor is off I should see my batteries at 12-13v if they are healthy.
  7. Nice work and solid report. It feels great to let the little ones off safely eh? Thanks for sharing. cheers Zoran
  8. If it’s a legit company eg good guys, Myer etc by all means unsubscribe as they are bound by Aus laws. If it’s spam or a marketing company all you have done is validated that yours is a legitimate email that you monitor and they on sell your email to others. I have found it best to add that sender to my junk list - all of their future emails get auto trashed. Eventually they stop emailing as they conclude you do not monitor this email. cheers Zoran
  9. Scratchie does a superb job - just check out his last post - he even uses SPs to attract whiskas brother to his live bait ... think he does that so you don’t feel left out Yowie! He’s such a considerate bloke eh? Cheers Zoran
  10. Yes in overhead rods the runners are closer to the blank and there are more of them. But as I learnt back in the day when I was building and repairing rods the main consideration is where the blanks spine is positioned relative to the runners. if you put a small bend in a blank and roll it, it will flick to have the natural spine on top of the curve. For overhead rods you place runners above the spine. For Alvey, Centerlink or eggbeaters, the runners are placed under the spine. A well made rod with the runners correctly placed casts sweetly and doesn’t twist in your hand under load. I test all rods before buying them. Yowies rod may well be an under mount rod with the wrong runners 😂 cheers Zoran
  11. Top report Pickles and nice feed of flatties there. I’m a firm believer in only take what you plan to eat 👍👍👍 cheers Zoran
  12. As Antony has said the Breather should be open - also make sure that the hose connecting the breather to the tank has no kinks. If you suspect fuel delivery is the cause then you should also replace the fuel filter, fuel hose and primer bulb from the tank to the motor - hoses perish on inside and debris can be causing blockage etc. Also check the low pressure fuel pump is delivering fuel to the carby. But these are all guesses - do you have a video/sound recording of motor in gear when you apply throttle? cheers Zoran
  13. Congrats on another fine fish Jeff ... I’m drooling 🤤.... I hope at some point a FR PS get together can be arranged. BTW, I always study posts for techniques and tips 🧐 and on re-reading it occurred to me that this fine fish was attracted to the boat by the SPs you were casting, it only took the live BAIT because that was the only thing in the water between casts. Just saying so that some other member doesn’t get confused on how the fish was actually caught. 🙄 So well done again on your exemplary SP fishing skills. cheers Zoran
  14. Reach out to @JonD from memory his daughter just obtained her coxswain licence. cheers Zoran
  15. Ok ok getting back on topic. I landed my first marlin (70kg stripey) on a Penn 601215 12-15kg boat rod bought at a Kmart clearance for $59 (and a Penn 330GTi bought in Walmart). I hunted down another 3 of those rods 🧐quick smart cheers Zoran
  16. That’s because it was last weekend’s curry 🙄
  17. Yup. We just had a great big bite ! cheers Z
  18. Ok. I will work those into the wiring diagram as well. cheers Z
  19. Glad you got it working and it was a relatively simple fix that did not involve any motor repairs. Personally I moved away from having a separate house battery years ago ... the way I set up a dual battery system, is that everything runs off the battery that is switched online... and battery 2 is a spare. Or everything runs of both batteries (so you can charge both batteries on the way out and then switch to just 1 for the day keeping the other as spare). Some folks may say that you are prone to get electrical noise on your electronics if you run everything off one battery, but a big (>10A) suppressor from Jaycar (about $15) stops all that. After all that's how every car with 1 battery is wired. There are more complicated set ups with automatic switchover and VSRs, but I like to keep as simple as possible on the boat. I'm just busy at moment, but if you're interested I'll PM you tonight a simple wiring diagram that shows 2 batteries, the switch, the suppressor , the motor, and the electronics circuit (both positive and negative wires). It's a simple mod to what you have. Cheers Zoran

    Whoops

If it was pennant hills rd 20min would have been a quick loop around the block. But then if he had been awake he’d only have to reverse back !
  21. Luke, if you have access to another working healthy battery it may be worthwhile to hook the motor to that battery and test start. That would be one way to eliminate the battery as the cause. cheers Zoran
  22. Yes I am sure they have gone and communicated back to NRMA etc, but there are lots of articles on the web that have not been updated that still refer to the end of the moratorium. I just got off the phone with RMS Maritime ..... I was advised to lodge a formal written complaint on their website as this backflip in rules should not have happened without prior communication. I'm $400 out of pocket... so I am chasing answers and accountability. https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/contact-us/feedback-form.html Cheers Zoran
