  1. Several pics: On board the mothership during the day Team Scratchie docked onto mothership One of our first hairtail Reggie and Swordie join in on the action. Shoulda seen Stuey give them hairtail a bit of stick! (p.s. I didn't know one was required to set the hook about 10 times on one fish haha) To all the new people I met, it was a pleasure and I hope you all get a couple more good ones tonight!
  2. Well done. What is your opinion of those swimmerz?
  3. Good stuff Jani. They are some mean looking pike.
  4. Big pig, and it sounds like you had to get up in apm and micro it out from the rocks
  5. That was a forgettable game. It wasn't as though we didn't have any chances, but the way we squandered it, and then milked for a penalty and then squandered it again.
  6. It's that time of night again folks! Cmon blues, lets seal this series!
  7. Nice rainbow, great colours and looks fat as a tank.

    Robbie's wish

    Good on you, perseverance pays
  9. Thanks for all your comments guys. Nice one Ben, can't wait
  10. Cheers. I don't know about the monster-sized carp but this one had no chance on 4lb fc leader. Got him to the surface asap and it could find the leverage to punish me on the light line!
  11. Just a short report here. As anyone that knows the Georges River, the flood rains of last month had wrecked the already slow SP fishing in the mid upper reaches of Georges but it was good to get out there with SargeRX8 over the last couple weeks for a few fish in the Parramatta river system. Fishing was slow but better than the Georges for sure. We were able to get bream and some tailor. Here's some pics.
  12. Haha, sounds like an idea! Must be some massive eels in there, but there might be some carp there. They seem to exist in any condition of water that has a fresh component. That bow carp hunting proposition is pretty extreme
  13. Nice catches, particularly the lizard but that's some quality bream too. Is that lure in the picture a shad in lemon chicken on 5g round ball? Have you ever caught any bream on that lure?
  14. Thanks Jeff, you caught me with my hand in the cookie jar! Carp are pretty decent fighters and good fun on light gear. They pull hard in short spurts and go for ages.
  15. Went for a quick flick last week trying to get these buggers on lures but didn't have any success. Threw a bit of bread on a hook and not long after managed this sucker. With last light having gone by a while ago, packed up shop and headed back. Caught in the middle upper reaches of the Georges. Will try on lures again one day.
  16. ^ what he said. The superposition of waves can occur when they happen to reach the place at the same time and their magnitude (i.e. heights) are equivalent to the two or more separate smaller waves. Obviously this is why people watch the waves from a set distance for a significant period of time (e.g. 15 mins). This is because it can also be true that the waves are out of phase and thus cancel each other to give no or little waves. It only takes one aligning of the phases of waves to produce the 'freak' wave and hopefully by then you have already taken all the precautions which I'm not doubting. Just putting this out there and hopefully some others may find this info useful.
  17. Good report, such a nice change of scenery. Looks like you made the most of your limited time to fish there.
  18. Look at those barrels!!! Mind boggling stuff! It's a bloody free for all out there for young and old!
  19. Tastes good with the ol' boot recipe.
  20. Good on you for rescuing them. Hope your boat is fine.
  21. Worm proof containers work fine. From my experience, z-mans of different colours can be stored together if you do not mind mild colour intermixing. Other plastics can be in the same container so long as they are not physically touching i.e. dividers. Although I haven't had any melt on me, obviously being a soft and stretchy plastic means that it's melting point is quite low so avoid extreme heat. This is probably true for every other plastic.
  22. Oh man, looks too good - the fishing and the food. Not gonna lie, I salivated.
