  1. Bought a pair of the dual flush, seal so much better than my old single sided ones, $28 well worth it Might be time to give it a lockdown flush to keep it all lubed up
  2. Ha Ha I haven't had any real issues, heaps of friends ask me to take them fishing or take them and their kids, most of the time i let them know up front what i expect and then tell them to message me if they still want to go, i explain it will be a great day and lots of laughs. I also know if the kids go i don't really fish, its not worth it, more fun helping them and enjoying the day. Here is a list of questions for them 1. Do you have a rod / Rods - Yes (great what sort so we can target the right fish) - No (Give me a call when you get a rod and we can go out)(Unless they are good people then i have Kmart rods for them) 2. What bait are you using or are you a lures guy - Bait (Awesome what are u using as i will bring something different) - Lures Awesome be good to see how you go 3. Food / Drinks - You get the food and drinks for the day (There will be 2 adults and 5 kids, pack lots of snacks as kids eat twice as much) and i will get the fuel / Ice / Esky / Boat and Tow vehicle 4. How long do you want to go for - Just a hour (Probably better to hire yourself a boat, as if we put my boat in it will take us 30mins set up, 30min drive to ramp, 10mins to launch and park, 45mins to get to the spot, 1hour fishing, 45mins back, 20mins to retrieve the boat, 30mins home, 10min to unpack and 45mins to wash the boat. So that 5.5hrs - Kids and i are easy, we can do what ever if the kids get bored we can go swimming (Perfect nice and flexible)
  3. Correct i know i'm a big guy but there is nothing big about a big Mac!!!
  4. Thanks guys, I remember making lures out of spoons with my Dad. might try throwing lures in the pool and see how the go and the set up a Rod and give them a go. hey Zoran I finally weighed the steel blocks I showed for deep drop weights. They are 2.1kg
  5. Hi All going through cleaning up the garage and came across these in my Wife’s Grand fathers fishing box. if I polish these up what would I be targeting Are they for a trolling or cast and retrieve.
  6. Correct the axle is Gal, which from new I painted in Galmet to add protection Trailer is full Alloy and i use the scotch brite just to clean it up when it goes a little tarnished and when the seaweed is heavy at Shoal bay as it sticks to everything.
  7. I have Blue Skids and centre rollers and if the ramp has a good slope then i cannot undo the safety or strap until I'm ready to launch and then its just a gentle push and away it slides. Pretty sure my trailer had a bolt on rear cross member, will have to stick my head under again, being alloy I just use a scotch brite pad once every now and then to clean the salt off the under side, but never had a issue, the axle is the worst part. Also i hate that mine has holes drill in the cross members top and bottom, why not sealed tubes, its hard to wash out properly since the ends are sealed.
  8. Hi All I use Salt Away every 2nd or 3rd time to flush my motor after i had two seized thermostats. I flush for 5 / 8 mins then turn on the salt away to run through for the final 2 mins. The Salt away hose attachment is SHit, the Salt Captain one looks better Also i am about to swap to the dual feed ear muffs as i feel they push the water into the motor better than the single sided ear muffs.
  9. I was on a boat with 4 mates, I don't get seasick usually but decided I would take the tablet just in case, the one guy who didn't take it got seasick pretty quick after we started drifting just outside the heads. The skipper asked two questions, do you have your wallet? do you prefer Watson Bay or Clifton Gardens. We dropped him at Clifton gardens, where he apparently laid on the beach for 3hrs until he took a cab home.
  10. Sounds like a seal is letting Hyd Fluid past (Bleeding Back) which lets the ram ease down over time, Warranty repair as it will happen when driving and your partly tilted. Unless this is a function of the Hyd system so as to not load the ram up or keeping the system on high pressure with the weight of the engine?
  11. Hi Worm Just to summarise what the others have said 1. Pull the plugs and soak each cyl in a mix of 2 Stroke oil, do this and allow to soak in, turn the whole motor left to right with the steering and tilt every few days to spread the oil before trying to turn it over by hand. 2. Clean the Carbies 3. drain the fuel tank 4. Replace water pump assembly not just the impeller 5. Fuel pump diaphragm (Do the kit) 6. Fuel lines and primer including any hose under the cowl 7. Replace fuel filter, have another ready after the first tank or two replace again 8. Clean oil reservoir and as you add oil mark it in 500ml or 1ltr increments 9. Clean electrical sensor plugs 10. Grease the Steering Cable, Grease Nipples on Outboard and throttle 11.
  12. Find a public weighbridge | Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources I used the one at the old Tuff Tone Mufflers at Epping Station, but its now a 25 storey apartment block Using the link, it opens a excel spreadsheet which you can sort into state and post codes
  13. Last time we had massive rains, the debris was still floating around Barr Point two weeks later as i nearly hit a log the size of a telegraph pole, once i got another 30mins up the river it was clear, the debris takes a while to work its way down the river. My mate saw two dead dairy cows floating past when he was at Wisemans yesterday.

    Salt Away

We have very high pressure I even have had Syd water add a pressure reducer to our mains.

    Salt Away

My hose connect blows off the Saltaway attachment all the time, if I put the trigger nozzle on it.

    Salt Away

When it stops being blue and the soapy sids reduce. I find there connector is shit if you have good pressure in your hose. I only use it every 3rd or 4th trip
  17. Good luck with the recovery Donna, is it true Nurses make the best patients? My Mum was a nurse and then a nursing unit manager at Concord Hospital and I'm pretty sure she would try and sort out issues whenever she was a patient, even 30yrs later. Not sure the young Nurses appreciated her input. Hey Scratchie Hope the young fellow recovers well, We just went through a similar injury with our 8yr old, Xmas day on the trampoline, he Fractured his Tibia through the growth plate and small tear in the ligament of the ankle, He did 6 weeks in a cast over Summer school holidays and then 4 weeks in a moon boot. Back to the specialist on Monday and starts the long road with physio. Hardest part with our young one and probably yours, Master 8 is always on the go, Swimming, bikes, soccer, football or skateboard, so he really struggled not swimming or doing sport.
  18. Sitting at home on Saturday looking at the boat and thinking, its been a while and with no renovation work for the day, texted a mate and away we went at 4;30pm The ramp was empty only about 8 cars in the parking bays at Rydalmere and two boats just pulled out, one had taken on way to much water and the owner just got their license the day before, bungs were in but there was plenty of saltwater, so something wasn't right. From Rydalmere the wind was gentle but was creating some chop and the amount of party boats around was something I hadn't see since before Covid. We headed straight to Rosebay and anchored up near the boat moorings, a little bit of burley and some fresh squid and I don't think it hit the bottom before i had a small bream on, he went 22cm and straight back in, I love circle hooks, so easy to release. Then pulled up a small snapper at 26cm (My Largest Snapper Ha Ha) and he went back in and it was like this for the next few hours as my mate and i solved the worlds issues and relaxed on the water. The wind dropped of to nothing and we decided to move further down the river to opposite Goat Island. Set up 3 rods and while baiting the third rod our heavy rod bent over took some line and then nothing, bait gone and no hook up, after that we floated around for another hour or two and relaxed, before heading back to the ramp at 11pm. There was a Drunk dude at the ramp fishing, he was soaking wet as he said he help a guy retrieve his boat, i think he just fell in. Text book retrieval (Drive on trailer) to applauds from drunk dude and back home for a quick boat wash and motor flush and a relaxed sleep. Sorry no Pics maybe next time, to busy relaxing
  19. In the Mid 90's my neighbour had a RX4 13b Bridgeport, My mate has a Savanna RX3 Peripheral Port and another had a Mild Port RX5. Couple of the guys still have their Rotaries and are now bringing them back to life after sitting in Garages while they raised a family. I was the black sheep with a 351 Ford XD or a 302W XW Many a night spent at the Auburn Maccas, Twin M4 Servos and Davies Rd and even Bondi on the odd occasion Weekends spent looking at cars at Lahood Motors, Ray Dyson Motors next to Rare Spares Homebush.
  20. Found this in FB, poor Ford XF went for a swim twice at the ramp. https://fb.watch/3NW7IYktwG/
  21. Correct ingot my first ever decent set up spent $300 and lost it out of the rod holder in the boat when a tanker and a 40ft cruises wave. Hit me on all sides the cheap arse Kmart rod and reel stayed put.
  22. sad thing is even with 4 engines idling it was quieter than my single 115hp Etec.
  23. But it would be a nice addition?
