  1. My in-laws had a 38ft Mustang with twin 5.7 ltr motors. I once took it out and it had a full tank, burned around the harbour, round to middle harbour and up and down the river and when I went back that evening I had 1/4 tank. I filled her up and it cost me $790 hence forth I never borrowed it again. Fuel was $1.34 at the marina which was .30c dearer than at the petrol station.
  2. You won’t be able to filter it enough at home to use it if it’s that dirty and has any water in it. For safety and enjoyments I would pump it all out and take it to a recycling place or if you think it’s dirty but not to bad use in the lawn mower. Sounds like you on the right track to getting this boat back up and running sweet.
  3. When you pull the floor, it should have a drain section to allow the water that gets in there to flow down to the next chamber where the bungs are already. Adding bungs might just hide the issue.
  4. Hey Zoran i have some solid steel blocks which you could try, what weight do you need, I think these are 1.1kg. they were not cast right so they are just sitting around my office i even have some in my fire pit Jeff
  5. I was up Shoalbay this week, Sunday was insane at Shoal Bay ramp. i pulled up to remove my straps and launch, all in about 10mins, when I went to park the trailer, there was a man standing in a parking spot who said he was minding it for his mate, who was still trying to launch his stuck 19ft F/glass, so I moved on and there was a 10yr old kid who said he was minding the spot for his Mum, who had gone home to get their boat. So they were not even at the ramp.WTF? I parked my trailer at home and walked back down and the poor kid was still standing with his dog waiting, must have been there for over 30mins. Which pissed me off as two boats arrived and retrieved, so I could have parked in that spot and his mum could have taken one of those spots. Then in the afternoon I backed my trailer into the water, went to get my boat from the beach and as I was driving my boat over another boat had came in and nearly drove onto my trailer? Then he beaches it on lane 2 of the concrete ramp and gets out to go get his trailer, his mate gets out and stands on the ramp trying to hold his boat from smashing into my trailer, the alloy boat was getting bumped and pushed into the ramp, hitting the concrete beam on the edge multiple times. I drove my boat on secured it and as I was driving out the waves pushed the boat almost into mine, so I had to floor it to get my boat out of the way. So they not only held up the ramp they probably damaged their boat.
  6. I have 4 Blue and 5 Red Stickers in Silverwater or West Ryde
  7. Hi Pegz I have used this ramp a few times, it's a easy ramp with the floating pontoon, doesn't suffer as much from the Rivercats as they are slowing down and on the other side of the river. (Meadowbank). Downside is Parking is limited from memory there is only 9 trailer spots and then its street parking and during the week Construction trucks can block spots, but they move if asked as they are not meant to be there and don't need the hassle. Its not busy which makes it even more attractive to beginners, I still prefer Rydalmere but I have used this ramp if I turn left instead of right out of my street.
  8. Just waiting for the tide to come in, she will be right
  9. On the two ramps i use, Rydalmere and Parsley Bay, I can stop just before the centre line of my wheels and launch my boat, i usually do this after a long drive only (Such as down the freeway), to stop the cold water hitting the hot brake rotor and potentially sucking water past the seal (Quenching?) Some ramps if they are too steep i cannot do it and i just wait a few minutes while setting up. Retrieving is a different story as i drive on 95% of the time, then the trailer goes all in, P.s I have the Skid trailer with the V Shape Skid at the back which means as long as I'm + / - 400mm either side of the centre roller it will catch the boat and slowly centre it before i touch the throttle and ride 4/5 of the way up the trailer. Walk through to the bow and hook on and then turn off the motor and raise it.
  10. In case any of the Port Stephens crew who wanted stickers, I am in Shoal Bay this weekend and have a bunch of Stickers. Jeff
  11. Maybe it was insurance bought through the Surtees dealer.
  12. Like Frank said spray with WD40, every time you walk past give it a spray. then a few days later tilt the motor up to take the load of the arm and with a hammer and a block of wood gently tap it and work back and forth and spray until freed up.
  13. Only thing I would change is to sit the bait board back 60mm to stop you hitting your head on it when sitting in the back seat. Baitmate will modify all their designs, I had mine raised 120mm to allow for being 6ft 2
  14. Yeah it slips into the ski pole hole and the chrome Arms bolt up to it. The arms bolt on with that threaded Rod. I just drilled a hole at the correct height about 80mm under the board it had a lug fitted to stop the ski rope dropping down the pole.
  15. Welster that’s the same ski pole mine had, swapped it for the the bait mate ski / bait board, save removing it each time i even still use the two support arms
  16. What’s a 1 or 2 year old motor worth?
  17. I haven’t had a issue with my Stacer 539 and I have a BaitMate Ski/bait board and also use the factory ski pole if I know I’m not fishing. I have had 3 large guys over 85Kg each multiple times at full speed in a lounge chair tow tube and no issues in the 4yrs.
  18. Also watch out for the sand bars, I went in one channel at high tide to go to Tea Gardens and on the way back it was to low for me to get out, had to back track and come out a different outlet (I followed the Ferry out)
  19. Here is my tips 1. Well written, listing key features and any service record details plus hours and a brief description. 2. Lots of photos, Front back Sides, inside, from a distance ect so anyone looking can see all angles and get a feel for the boat. 3. Video of it running and pumping water is always good, even a drive past on the water. 4. Clear pricing and contact details 5. Tidy the boat up and make sure its clean and presented almost empty, take a separate photo of the life jackets ect. (Updated a Noels Post)
  20. great I lost 40mins of productive work as I went down the youtube rabbit hole. Which isn't a bad thing, Ha Ha HA

    Boat Overhang

I have a Bright Red / Orange flag which sits on my outboard propeller as when tilted up it falls into the above category, so it was provided by the dealer to meet regulations.
  22. Jordy has the main items covered, I bought all the kids headlight torches, Bunnings had them on special 250 lumen for $5 and I also have a Makita work light around the fishing tackle / Bait and food. The glow sticks is a great idea as it allows you to see where hooks and tackle are and when they are flying through the air. If you have more than two kids under 12 then forget about fishing yourself, between baiting, untangling and getting food you wont have time, unless you put a big hook on and a whole pilchard and get it out first and leave it in the rod holder. Have fun, I have 3 kids and my fishing is limited to what they do, so much so I don't bother much myself when they are around, its less frustrating if I just plan kids fishing rather than planning a fishing trip for myself with kids, if that make sense. p.s its also more enjoyable and they grow up way to fast.
