  1. Have caught quite a few in the parra, lane cove & Hawkesbury rivers usually after a bit of rain And when targeting jewies, years ago a jew fisherman told me I was in the right area if I was catching those brown catfish, never tried using a fillet though, might give it a go next time I hook one
  2. Good mixed bag, and some nice pannies, did you get them predawn or during the day?
  3. Last year on a Sydney fad there was a boat in & out of gear holding in tight to the fad with a rod in hand while his mate was hanging onto a rope with a speargun & flag deployed, we trolled past in disbelief while 5 other boats had to stay wide of them
  4. Just noticed this kit is on sale this Saturday at the German supermarket for the same price as well as squidgies slick rigs
  5. That’s a great Cobia,I traced one for a guy that went 18kg gutted the other week, I’ve heard the rocks from Jervis bay to past port Stephens have been on fire lately, it’s good to see the squid have stepped up in size
  6. Half way between tweed Heads & Byron bay near a place called sleepy hollow
  7. Great report and information good photos to, nice croc usually around this time of year the bigger girls get caught
  8. What a difference, yesterday wind howling & 11/2m+ sets rolling in, today flat, less than 1/2 m & light winds (forecast was 2m). Got to the rocks about 1:30, 4th cast & I’m on pulling a bit of drag and a nice bend in the rod, 10 casts later and I’ve got another five. In just under 2 hours I caught theseand let 2 go similar in size to the smaller ones, gave 2 to a guy that had only caught one. On the way back had a chat & a beer with a bloke who was cleaning a 12 kg long tail, his mate got an 8kg model, he also mentioned an ISO fisherman managed to snare one inside north head, Happy days
  9. Met her on the water while she was tagging & getting information from the under water monitors, she told me there where quite a few in the system & one had traveled way up the parramatta river & back to Bradley’s head & had passed the the balls head monitor (where I was chatting to her) 3 times that day. And as you mentioned no juveniles
  10. Western side of Pittwater the beach’s like mackerel, coasters etc have squid & yakkas if you burley or the western side of palm beach in Pittwater for squid on the weed beds
  11. If you where fishing near the beach end of the rocks it could’ve been a big old shovel nose shark, they don’t fight much & don’t have teeth
  12. Thanks for rewriting, a great write up which helped to fill in the blanks for the nice mixed bag, lucky last drift & a nice fish to finish up on. I’ve got to give that Cajun mix a try on my next lot of flatties, I’ve used it for blackened trout & that came up trumps
  13. Great report guys, what no snapper😀, nothing better than hearing your reel screaming, wow 300m run must’ve been a good one, there have been a few caught over the last couple of weeks off the stones down my way & a couple of Cobia, I traced a blokes Cobia on Monday, went 138cm & 18 kg gutted
  14. Good report, mixed bag & converting a couple of newbies, nothing better than having a couple of mates who don’t really fish keen for another session
  15. Great mixed bag Gordo, some good feeds in that lot, shame about the report going AWOL
  16. Great bag of dollies they must’ve been hungry, did you get them down deep to get past the mutton birds, a good trick with any birds caught up is to throw a rag over there heads and grab the head when there feet touch something solid they settle down, wonder what the bluey silver fish was
  17. Great report & account of your day, lures are always worth adjusting till your happy, front face of a wave occasionally grabbing air & leaving a bubble trail, the way you described the day it felt like I was onboard, great write up & congrats on the double hook up, shame about the lost lure, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve already got another lumo, with the way the currents & temp are looking off Sydney it could be a fishy weekend
  18. You’ve definitely got the hacking wired, makes me think you’ve fished there most of your life, another great mixed bag & 3 big girls, well done & congrats on the pb
  19. I was lucky enough to catch 3 one night just inside north head in late March in the early 90s and lost several sets of gang hooks (4x 3/0s) to bite offs. I had them in an old grey fish market tub with nothing else, they were bent like bananas & all 3 tails past the fork were hanging out. The biggest one from memory was 12&1/2lb bled can’t remember if it was gutted though
  20. Great report & awesome photos, the black carpet really shows off the colours & makes the fish standout especially the bream, were they taken with a phone or camera?
  21. Great first report, story & photos, that bass must’ve put up a great fight for you having to do donuts to stay in contact, that’s a cracker of bass, well done on your first yak session

It’s a support bracket for the windscreen when you fold it down to fit into a garage after folding the roof, looks like yours is a 490 or thereabouts, hope you get plenty of enjoyment out of her
  23. He retired at the end of last season from the shop, he was planning on going to the coast & targeting some saltwater fish, I think he mentioned possibly still guiding
  24. Good on you for making the most out of the bad weather & congrats on all the firsts, sounds like you’ve got a new fishing buddy in the making, great report, photos & colours on the dollies
