  1. Im pretty sure its a mitsubishi motor i may be wrong .I went with a canopy same as old one and yes they can be a pain but most of my tools are in 2 toolboxes on wheels I didn't want to go tray and tool boxes as a lot of jobs I can't drive close enough to make it easy.one of the selling points for me was that the motor and running gear has been around for a long time and with 10 yrs warranty s
  2. Yeah I've heard about the Mitsubishi Nissan Renault thing so if I was spending my money I would wait and see for a year or two and see if there any good.im a tradie so don't want to pay for shiny stuff on a Ute but I can see why people want flash for the money they cost saying that I got the model up from base and I prefer a manual so cost was about the same but has nicer wheels side steps and a diff locker. While I was waiting to pick mine up I walked around the yard they are also a Toyota dealer I can't see how they are nearly double the price it's a Ute not a sports car and don't tell me about being able to tow 3.5 t safely I call b.s. anyway my boat wouldn't be a tonne .hopefully it's as good as the old one I've had for close to 15 years
  3. I just got anew triton my old 2003 has over 380000km hopefully the new one is as good.
  4. Never used a float for jackets myself but from memory a handline with 3_4 kg mono was what we used down at Greenwich ferry wharf always leather jackets there peeled prawns we used but yeah squid probably better. Can you still fish off of ferry wharves ?
  5. Yeah the rain has made it worse rebel I looked at Bunnings and online doesn't seem to be anything which is surprising
  6. Ahh don't listen to me daughters baby shower so I went too club for beers
  7. I don't no why people are surprised that quality isn't as good as it once was we all want everything cheap and want to pay Chinese prices but we still expect Aussie built things to be the same price as some of that crap . I've just bought a new Ute and didn't consider a chinese one. People need to be realistic if you want something in new condition buy new
  8. Berowra backing onto bush we've had a few snakes a wombat wallabies and plenty of lizards (geckos love the place)I'm wondering if I sprinkle pool salt around the yard if it would help but don't want to kill the lawn

    Leeches

Hi all every time it rains the leeches come out everywhere I'm talking 30 seconds outside and chances are 1 of the horrible bastards will be on you anyone know I some way of killing the buggers on the lawn ( I no about salt I'm looking for a spray or something) thanks
  11. I agree with Noelm on this if you're not going to use it don't kill it,some of the fish I see some people keeping are not good eating .I am fairly fussy with what I keep even flounder are given to elderly friends as we won't eat it in my house. It reminds me of going hunting as a young bloke my mate shot a roo and just left it there. it seemed cruel and stupid to me and no I'm not a greenie
  12. Check it out properly if you're happy buy it and use it you're buying used it won't be perfect as long as price is ok don't worry about cosmetics especially if it's for fishing
  13. I only get arrow squid and most were a good size around 300_350 mm but also smallest one I've ever caught around 75mm(let that one go)
  14. Hey can't say 100 p/c kingfish as I didn't land any but savage strike and hard fight . so I think so . the shovel nose are becoming a pest and turning me off drifting. Last trip a 20 minute fight at juno for what I knew wasn't a jew and trying for flathead in pittwater is becoming a waste of time
  15. That looks so nice my wife is to scared of snakes and doesn't like camping I'm jealous have a great time
  16. So launched around 5 am at parsley bay brooklyn and yes it was fairly busy about 10 minutes to launch no problems wasn't too sure about weather so decided to do my usual Pittwater instead of offshore I've been doing ok on squid lately so yeah 3 casts 3 squid into live tank and headed over to see if any kings around got smashed twice (note to self don't take light gear for kings) and got a shark about 1.2-1.5 before bitten off ended up with 2 ok bream 31 and 37 and a flathead around 46 as well as 8 squid water very choppy but great day and if you have a bit of patience not bad happy New year
  17. Yeah never caught much there but normally had the whole place to yourself
  18. I'm the same Noel have the bearings as I keep spares in the Ute I did have one go years ago but it was on the m1 not a place to change them $300 for a tow truck. 20. Thanks I do them myself yearly but not one of my favourite jobs will Jack it up today and give them a spin
  21. Is the camping ground still at jenolan caves rd as you go over the first bridge. My kiwi wife really didn't enjoy a snake going between her feet at one stage back then we didn't have a mobile phone and a 45 minute walk back to the car
