Hey all so on water at brooklyn 5am go to Pittwater for a few small squid waiting to see what wind and swell is like to head outside when it was light enough headed out towards whale beach. A few snapper but all undersize so head out for flathead drift in about 150 ft kept 6 between 40 -65 cm and solid fish all good . I pull up what i think is a big flattie and its a leatherjacket bigger than a garbage bin lid it spat the hook at the boat but i never have seen one near that size before all up a great day with a nice bag of fish and enough to share with retired friends also dolphins seals and whales about (love em if they keep there distance

Hi all so wife and i driving down to do great ocean rd and will probably stay in eden or merimbula for a night or two so wondering what shore based spots worth a go its not a fishing trip so probably only taking 1 light outfit will use plastics so estuary based better will probably stay in a cabin in one of the park if any recommendations thanks

I’ve stayed out for just 1more fish too many times and scared the crap out of myself bloody stupid i am in my 50s should know better . Some of the wash from big boats is bad enough but some of those bars are scary glad i dont have to do them

I’ve been boating for over 25 years amd never had to do a proper bar crossing I wouldn’t really know what to do

Hey xd 351 ive been doing well on squid in pittwater lately ( it’s about all ive been good at) i normally start at the red chanel marker out in the middle where the depth drops off and drift back to the mouth and throw a bait out for flathead while you’re at it but be warned rays and sharks everywhere. If i get out Saturday i will try the paternoster on the squid

I used to go to a skateboarding park there probably late 70s early 80s I thought they got rid of that and built another aquarium

Can’t remember if it was at manly or the zoo where my uncle held me over the tank or pool with sharks swimming under me don’t think that could happen now!

Got the boat hooked up for tomorrow bugger the weather report its never right (shit probably jinxed myself but just done 12 days straight at work i need a fish) im planning on keeping out of pittwater and try a couple of different spots and see how i go .will post a report if worthy

Good report mate a question for you pittwater has been infested with shovel nose and rays is it better down riveras its a muddy bottom instead of sand i know catfish can be a pain around the bridge after rain

Great video I’ve only been to tas twice and never fished there but it is one of my favourite places in the world

I see these reels regularly for$55so dont pay for a service pick up some reel oil and a set of cheap small screwdrivers and pull the side plate off and give it a small amount of oil and a good clean for whole reel .they are a good budget reel i use one for squid as well as bream and flathead you dont need to spend big for most fishing

So spoke to the supplier today the prop is ok with the tohatsu there is a spacer that I didn’t know about that i took off 1of the original ones.now i just have to see what its like on the water on that the new one is a lot thicker material so im interested in how much they wear over time

The drink package is something I’ve always wondered about even with all inclusive holiday resorts as I like ke my beer but dont want to feel i have to get #$#@faced every day to make it worthwhile
