Jervis Bay Jew and Flatty session

So I’m not a regular poster but I know my mate Bob would be disappointed if I didn’t post this.

Im one of those guys who loves fishing but not very good.  I’ve spent hours and hours on the water chasing the dream but coming up with not much more than a 2 inch bream.

With all the torrid weather of late, and work restructures and other fun stuff I took the family down to Jervis bay for a few days.  It rained most of the time.

But that didn’t stop us.  I couldn’t get out wide in the tinny with the weather, and the rain was generally relentless.

After taking the whole crew out (including the wife and two young girls) today and getting drenched, we went home but knew the day wasn’t done.

In the afternoon the rain stopped for a few hours, my 10 year old fish-nut son and I snuck down from our place at Huskisson to Currambene creek.

At the top of the tide, we hit a purple patch getting a stack of flatty, the biggest at 61cm with another 4 between 40-50.

Then, I got my first Jew on lure, after countless lessons from my mate Sam.  Biggest was 47, and one just a bit smaller.  Still waiting on the magic legal lure Jew.

The Bream were on too.

On the way home Theo declared it our best estuary day yet.

God is good
