  1. Bob, you had me going with the king hook up😜 plenty of action on your boat!
  2. Insane work from you and the boys Ribs! beast of a muddy 😜
  3. Great post and well done on the hook up! Sounds like pretty unforgiving territory to land big fish! Be careful 🙏🏻
  4. Sounds like you’ve had a blast and some great feeds too👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  5. They are a great size! Forget the pasta, just boil them up, ice them and enjoy with a cold 🍺😜
  6. Thanks Dave I enjoy preparing seafood almost as much as catching it! Shame the other nipper hadn’t grown back full size yet👌 Thanks Bob I do most of the cooking and all the seafood cooking and I had to get the most out of one crab! Plenty of crab posts atm so I think you are spot on! Thanks little Flatty I always try to make the most of my son’s catches🙏🏻 I cheated with the pasta and used fresh wonton wrappers…..simple and effective hack🤪
  7. Nice bag for you and the kids! Keep them keen🙏🏻
  8. Great post Bob and it's important to share such info with Raiders as first timer in the area may not have done the research. I find that Fisheries and Maritime officers are all pretty good to have a chat with and as long as everything is in order it's only 10 minutes of your session. Nice inker btw:)
  9. That is an amazing bag of yummy crabs and co.! Well done on getting them on handlines, makes it even more memorable and the feed looks delish!
  10. My son headed down to the Hacking for an afternoon shorebased session yesterday and picked up a thumping male blue swimmer crab on a squid bait. He called me and I told him to bring it home so I can cook it up. My wife had recently had crab ravioli at a city restaurant so I decided to try my own version. The crab was a beast with one full sized nipper and I put it to sleep in the freezer then boiled it up today, iced it and removed all the flesh. Mixed with fresh ricotta, lemon zest and some parsley, i made the ravioli and covered them with a lemon sage butter sauce. The meal made 24 ravioli and fed 3 of us ......all were happy! Bring on the rogue crabs I say!
  11. Great read Little Flatty! I love reading about the fly caught fish you get!
  12. Great post and good to see you put Derek’s tutorial to good use. Nice work on the fillets too, enjoy🙏🏻
  13. Thanks Dave Good to get a feed and yes that smallest whiting would be the ultimate’swim bait’ for a croc👌 Thanks Bob Releasing a fish feels good and nearly always is followed by a feed🙏🏻 Bag limit is definitely a good move, you see hundreds of posts of crocs released these days, no more 90cm fish frames nailed to the back fence😜
  14. That’s a an amazing assorted platter Basil! You’d please the fussiest of seafood lovers with that bag🙏🏻
  15. Headed out to the Hacking this morning with my son to catch some yakkas and target kings. Caught a dozen yakkas around 7:30am and dropped a couple down for a slow troll. First livey was hit with a few bruises, second one was snavelled by a nice flatty that measured 71cm then released. Next stop was Maianbar to collect some nippers and try some flats fishing as the tide turned. Things were a bit slow as there was no breeze but I used the leccy and scored a few whiting from 28-40cm and a trev in the high 40s that has been prepared for sashimi tomorrow. Polished off some tempura whiting fillets tonight and everyone's happy:)
  16. Great session Fab! plenty of action and fish!
  17. Nice work Robbo! Its very satisfying to get the rings on a lure, takes many casts👌
