  1. Nice bag Dave! plenty of fillets without the overcharging 😜
  2. Yes Dave they go very nicely on the plate, I fry them in the wok and do a dipping sauce over the top...a bit fiddly but prime white flesh:) Any fish caught on livies is a winner for me too! I'll have to try that Faker!
  3. Awesome post and catch, great to see your crab hunt was successful and the gars when butterflied are a prime feed, nice work on the knife work!
  4. Good to hear you bagged out on poddies as it's been tough going getting numbers down my way. As for the whiting, try the same spot when there is a good breeze blowing, I find that whiting are more aggressive if the tide or breeze are moving well. In my opinion, if you can se the whiting they are pretty hard to catch:)
  5. Nice work Henry It's great to see you put your learnings into a good result, thank your mentors and keep the PBs coming:)
  6. Some fillets to enjoy from that bag Dave👌
  7. Thanks, both flounder inhaled the plastics and I had to do some surgery to get them out! Yep, I kept them as I caught one a few weeks ago and they taste great! Get out there Zoran, flat ones taste good!
  8. Grabbed half a dozen big poddies yesterday in the hope of a mullo this morning. Hit the Georges at 6:30am and fished a couple of deeper spots but things were quiet. Once the tide started slowing down I had a good hit and up came a fat 60+ flatty. I put it into the livewell and did a couple more drifts flicking plastics as well. Lost 2 more livies to either flatties or mullos that hit and ran. Now only armed with lures I headed out into the bay and drifted with a prawn imitation plastic and a curly tail minnow. Got a few good hits along the way and picked up two feisty flounder that swallowed the whole plastic and a nice flatty in the 50s. Released a dozen smaller models and packed up at 11am. Cleaned the catch and both the flathead and flounder had roe. A few nice fillets and I'll do the flounder whole:)
  9. Surprised at the number of small Mullos! Good to see you got plenty of action on the trip🙏🏻
  10. Good stuff Chris! Nice mixed bag there🙏🏻 I’m a big fan of the 2 hour mark from high or low tide….peak flow time👌
  11. Congrats Robbo any kingfish will test an angler and the tackle! may your next be well above legal🙏🏻
  12. Great post, always good to read about Raiders getting together for a fish even if the weather doesn’t read the invite🙏🏻
  13. Gotta love flatties when they get air! Nice landing on 6lb👌
  14. Still a 3 course meal Dave, crabs the star this time!
  15. Thanks, The lud had some decent fillets on it! Thanks Dave, the 6lb got a workout and I was happy for my son's mate getting a decent king first up....lucky boy! Thanks Crabstar, poddies were big ones and have been hard to get for me this season too. Last season I could bag out in 30minutes:( Thanks! It's a good feeling to get youngsters onto a decent fish and the lud was my bonus! Good to know Chris, the boys went out an hour earlier and could only manage a few, I'll try those jigs next time!
  16. I took my son and his mate out for a fish this morning to try and get one of them onto a king. The boys left early to go and catch some yakkas but only 3 were secured and pretty big ones. I picked them up and headed up river to try to get a few poddies to bulk up the live bait. Dropped the trap in and the tide was starting to crank in. The boys each put a yakka on and we slow trolled them through a channel into deeper water and my son's mate's rod bent over. Drag was set very light and the fish took off with ease, I helped him tighten the drag and then the fight began. Fortunately we were a good 100m from any moored boats and after a good fight up comes his first king at 78cm! We dispatched it and put it in the chilly bag with some ice bricks. We were all pretty happy with that result at 8:30am and collected a few poddies from the trap and soaked them on the troll in a number of spots for no joy. I dropped the boys back at the wharf about 11am and headed to the flats to try a few nippers I had collected yesterday arvo. There wasn't much run or wind so the action wasn't that great but I managed a feed of whiting a a bruiser of a lud, coming in at 46cm, a PB for me. Off the water by 12:30:) Just finished cleaning the catch and I'll take some kingy fillets as commission and give the rest to my son's mate:)
  17. No Larkin is a jet ski fisho, he does the right thing!
  18. Cracking haul Mass! The whiting must follow you around:)
  19. Very well conditioned too!
  20. I like the bravery of light line so when you do land a cracker it will be memorable! I fished 6lb the other day and luckily only small flatties liked that lure, otherwise it's touch and go if they swallow the lure:)
  21. How about we get all the non-fishing jetskis into a square km offshore and they can play gladiator until they are all wiped out:)
  22. Nice work Mike, I've got so many one off surface lures I have procured over the years....always good to get fish on a HB:)
