  1. Nice thanks for that Jeff. Do you have a live bait tank too?
  2. Do you have a pic? I’m guessing it uses the ski pole mount?
  3. Wow I didn’t even realise the FADS were out. I was aware last year they decided to double up on the busy FADS so I guess that’s one of them. A feed of flatties always goes down well. Great report Zoran. Nice artwork on the chart 🤣.
  4. I had a 5.3 freedom sport I think around a 1999. It had the Quintex ski pole and bait board option at the time. The bait board was a bit sloppy but we had a live bait tank with bait board fabricated to fit in the pole so it didn’t matter. I now have a Stacer 5.7 with a ski pole. It has two stainless braces onto the transom. The thing with this one is we need to unbolt it to change to the bait board. So it isn’t easy to do both activities on the sane outing. It’s the third pic and the best I have of it, if you need more let me know. Hopefully that helps.
  5. It’s great to hear of a few kings turning up in the Hacking. I’m sure there was plenty of tense moments in the tussle with the king on such light gear.
  6. Nice work again Yowie.
  7. Well done on the sale. What's the new ride going to be?
  8. 6 months off work sounds pretty awesome to me. As far as the marine parks go you can use the Fishsmart app which shows the map and where you are on it. you can see the restrictions for each zone.
  9. When I changed boats the new one had the removable handle with three gears. As soon as I saw it I said to the dealer you better throw another handle in! Sure enough over the first year I did lose a few but none since. I keep a spare in the boat with some bung plugs, wire cutters first aid kit etc. Good tip I like it.
  10. I'm not surprised, things were way different back then and I'm pretty sure max towing speed was 80ks as well. Dad had a company car that was constantly for sale. Sometimes he had one car for 6 months sometimes he would have 3 or 4 new cars in a week. It was so frustrating when they sold his car, dad would end up cruising the used car lot looking for anything with a tow bar, we had all the adaptors for the 6 and 7 round and rectangular connectors. Many manufacturers cut a pretty fine line with the load rating. I know of a few guys that realised their boat was almost impossible to get under 2 tonnes. Resulting in expensive upgrades to relatively new rigs.
  11. Not to mention whatever gear you put in the boat. I remember as a kid our 5m pride and Haines half cabins never had brakes and were usually towed behind a falcon or fairlaine. I'm not sure what the rules where then but I'm pretty certain they wouldn't comply now.
  12. Awesome report Keith. When you were collecting the weed did you see any poddies?
  13. Very nice work. Do you brain spike them.
  14. Wow that's awesome. Congrats on being there to share such a special moment with the grandkids. I bet the grandson had smiles for days.
  15. Good luck. I'm looking forward to your follow up report.
  16. Good effort catching a squid on the troll is a unusual. Yes it's an arrow. Nice feed of good size tailor.
  17. That's an awesome first post. Well done on getting out and having done fun with the salmon. Congrats on your boat.
  18. For the bay I mostly use Kyeema or Foreshore drive sometimes so I can't help much. Maybe it's easiest to go and have a look or do a bait collecting run and see what happens.
  19. The area around the red circle is watts reef, you can tell by what you catch. The green circle is around the hot water outlet from memory you could pick it up with the temp gauge on tge sounder. I haven't fished near it gir ages and I'm wondering if it even exists now that we don't refine oil, assuming that's what it was about.
  20. Have you used Bonna Point ramp before? I have heard it can be quite shallow. Most people get livies over near the tug boats at mol point. I think you could try and burley them up easy enough near captain cook landing spot. Squid are also in the Kurnell watts reef area.
  21. Its pretty hard to beat some blue spots for a good feed.
  22. Only issue I can see with this set up is it isn't a 4wd. I don't really have that problem but i do own ski racks and think Rebels suggestion of ski racks would work really well with the rod but facing forwards
  23. Im looking forward to taking the time to have a read of this. I am yet to fish the fresh water. Thanks @big Neil
