  1. One day Id like to have that option, not really feasible with a 13ft tinny though. That's why I guess we keep coming back for more...………………..the thrill of the anticipation & just enjoying getting off work & out of the house Well done, most days Im lucky enough to bring home 3 or 4 nice 45-55cm flatties which keeps me coming back. You cant win them all I guess. What did you get the King on?
  2. Well it hasn't happened before that I can recall where I have gone out on 2 consecutive trips & not having brought a fish home. Started out today before sunrise getting some scad hoping to pick up any sized king but no joy, tried Molly, the cans, 3rd runway & produced zilch. Then tried my usual flathead marks & again donuts. Maybe the guys who ventured outside had better luck? Wind was a bit higher than the forecast from the onset so when not anchored I deployed the drift chute. Water temp 21* Looks like the bay had shut down or maybe getting over fished or maybe its just me??
  3. Yeh I just don't get the rule, whats the difference if there is even 10 rods there & not in use? If they aren't being used then what harm are they causing anyone? I think I might annoy them & write an email asking the reason why & also what the penalty is. I bet half the boats in NSW are carrying more than 4 rods/handlines PP!
  4. Am I missing something? Where does it state no mote than 4 rods 'in possession'? Just states no more than 4 in use is what I read. Also whats this BS about not carry excess fishing gear, next thing they will be telling you that you cant breath to much air 😕 Anyway its open to interpretation, I dont carry excess, I carry what I need & thats what I will tell the judge 😊 2 rods in use at once most times.
  5. So it doesn't have a fault then 🤔. Good luck with it.
  6. You must have a very good telescope to see sydney from your place or you own private satellite 🤔
  7. Sure, mines an FD yours is an FE. Doesn't matter, the thing has a manifacturing fault which can be easily sorted by warranty!
  8. ??? Why is that BG?? I can think of other fish I would rather eat but do enjoy them all the same as they are an easy catch species.
  9. Well done Bruce, great to see the next gen coming through. I hope they enjoy the eating as much as the catching? If not Im sure it will be a matter of time. I am sure they just enjoy being out there having a great time with pop
  10. As the piece of paper says its still under warranty so just send it back to them. Don't muck around trying to fix it then you will void the warranty! Looks like a manufacturing fault s o should be replaced straight away without question!!! Heres a picture of mine(I have 3 sizes) my bail arm comes back even further than Baz's I recon.
  11. I'd be happy to join you @Narayaat I am licensed but haven't a great deal of experience of driving that large a vessel. Plenty of GPS marks to visit off Sydney & Botany wide fad does pretty good as does the peak from time to time. Im in a similar boat(pun intended 🤪) I have days off during the week & my main fishing mate just moved to Qld so I tend to fish solo out of my 13ft tinny around Botany bay or the Hacking. Id like to explore or outside fishing though & with some good company. Happy to bring all my own gear & would provide some nice snacks/food as well, easy for me seeing as I am a chef 😉 Have you number so will contact you shortly. Adrian.
  12. I love twin hull boats, very nice!
  13. Probably the only time a soccer player wasn't faking it 🤣 A speedy recover to you, but you can wear a moon boot & fish, just saying 🙄
  14. Nice, that will get you to some decent places! Sounds like you live down the road from me @Baysic Im in Randwick! I agree with @GoingFishing its not one thing for me its having gear that you may not necessarily need but might come in handy when a situation arises. I only generally fish Botany & Port hacking but I still have some gear that you would normally carry when outside like poppers & smallish jigs, an array of soft plastics. As for being prepared I normally have 5 rods all pre rigged for different applications, one light set up with some sort of metal incase I see some surface action, 2 light set ups with a 2 different SP ready, slightly heavier rod with 15=20lb braid & paternoster, one heavier 10-15kg rod with 30lb braid set up for trolling & can quickly change to a popper or metal jig is I see something like a king on the sounder or see them around a fad. If I am fishing outside I have a different kit with different lures like octopus jigs lures, knife jigs, skirted lures etc. Cant say there is 1 thing 1 carry more important than the other. Probably say ya nipper pump is a good thing to have!
  15. Experience & knowledge. The rest is just throwing expensive stuff into the drink & hoping for the best 😊 There's no right or wrong answer, its what works for you at a particular location/time of day/time of moon phase/barometric pressure etc. You need to play with a number of approaches for a species & see what works. No magic pill which is what most people ask for!
  16. Welcome aboard. Nice catch & report
  17. Sounds like a cracker of a day out with the boys 👍
  18. Id be keen if someone is willing to offer me a berth on their vessel. As a trade off for the trip & fuel I could offer free basic share accommodation at my family's 2bdr unit at dutchies. I get the double you get the single bunks 😁 Have all my own gear & will bring burley/bait although I prefer to use lures & SP's or get live bait. Would be great to meet up with you blokes for starters 😊
  19. Nice work @Coswecanfly Ive only fished Garie once & found the same thing with the current, gave it an hour then gave up Looks like your change of tactics & persistence paid off so kudo's to you 👍
  20. I think your on the money 😉
  21. That's not good ojay. Cant help as I don't know enough about the subject but looking at it it looks like its cast to me, I would have though a stainless version would be the choice for such a piece of apparatus that takes a fair bit of weight, then again it may react with the hull? Im sure someone will chime in soon with the right answer.
  22. So all taking & no giving?? How about you introduce yourself to the forum 1st as a good will gesture & try to be part of the community before you try to get all the secrets & 'good spots' !! Imo pretty rude to be asking members for all the goss with giving nothing in return!
  23. Thanks for the tip Toby, I might have to grab some & give them a flick 👍 Ive actually just bought 2 Atomic hardz bream cranks & havent even tried them yet but looking forward to the next trip to give them a shot. Tight lines 😊
