    lost keys

Keep that guys number! I picked up the wrong keys as I headed out my front door not long ago & locked myself out of my apartment with no wallet & no mobile. Used the local chemists phone to call a local locksmith who arrived 20 minutes later, 60 seconds & 2 locks picked & Im in $150 later I wont be doing that again...………………….😏 $2.50 per second, think Im in the wrong trade 😖
  2. Sounds like plan b/c/d worked out then. The model your holding only looks like 8-10kg to me?
  3. Sometimes the answer to any doubt is simple......... Is my & others lives on my boat worth that of obtaining a fish?
  4. The problem is that there is flex in the rod & this will crack something like a wood varnish imo. Id be more tempted to use an epoxy of some sort, maybe 2 part like araldite?
  5. I recall reading years ago that point perpendicular was one of the only places.in australia that.you could baloon live bait for Marlin? Not.sure if thats true or not but you may still be.able to fish from there although I here its a bit of a hike in through the national park? Not sure.but you may even need permission to enter as I think its an aboriginal reserve? ?
  6. What's the motor brand/model??
  7. What a great day with the whole family Ash, and a feed as the bonus. Yeh we are lucky for sure & while I don't just fish so I don't have to pay outrages fish shop prices its just a good feeling you can put food on the table from your direct efforts to hunt & gather. Thanks for the report, Im going to have to head to the Hacking soon for a session
  8. Doesn't sound like you need them 😁 Bit of good luck there
  9. Yep & mine also have a max weight rating as well, both ratings are usually in the tyre unless they are very old & then I would be even more wary!

    weld burn

So if your going to the shed to use the grinder, chainsaw or drill your not wearing any PPE either I would guess 😏 The emergency departments & internet is full of people who have lost limbs or had their faces ripped off. Anyway its your body! Sorry not trying to be argumentative here but just pointing out that having 50 years of experience at anything doesn't negate the fact that the appropriate PPE's should be used when carrying out such tasks! Whats the saying with boating, never turn your back on the sea! Same sort of thing right?
  11. I've seen some pretty impressive set ups on the hacking because there are so many houses on the water with private ramps & boat sheds. Its a hard thing to comment without looking at your ramp, so do you just want to leave it on the ramp or bring in into a shed?? Maybe an easy solution would to actually buy some trailer slides with the plastic/Teflon strips & make a bolting bracket to fasten to the concrete then with an electric winch bring you onto something that rolls?? There are lots of trailer spare places around. Don't know, then you have to get it back into the water of course. Maybe even modify a cheap boat trailer on modified wheels that's permanently attached to the winch??
  12. Thank you for the info, I will have to check mine as I think they are coming up to 5 years now. Booked in via the link you provided for the 24th 👍 Cheers.
  13. This is my thread from 2016. I didn't get one & then wasn't forced to drilling holes into my motor to fit which I think will decrease its resale value dramatically? I just worked on getting my weight distribution more forward to suit the functionality of my hull. That being said I go solo in my 13.9ft ally tinny most of the time so it made sense to just move as much weight as possible forward. The boat never had a problem with steering & turns on a dime at all planing speeds so I didn't want to mess with that!
  14. Thanks for sharing your story @SquidMarks Basically strengthens what I was saying in my first post about some of these guys not fully understanding some of their own rules or perhaps trying to impart their own beliefs upon you ie. your child should just have his life jacket on full stop regardless if your underway or not! On your last comment, we obviously have the right to contest a fine but then the onus is on you to prove your innocents & take the time to go to court etc when its quite possible that the fine should not have been handed out in the 1st place.
  15. Thanks for the report but might be time to think about your set up if a 55cm kingie is busting your balls with that line class. Whats the rod & reel your using?
  16. Bread & butter fish, got to love it 👍
  17. My opinion is to just look at all that are available & do a quality comparison. I bought a Dunbier a few years ago & now looking at it it is not a very well finished off trailer at all, the LED lights have gone & need replacing(out of warranty of course). Look at the finer details like the actual galvanising on all components including the wheels(mine are flaking now), the quality of the LED's. Then compare them to other makers!
  18. Nice looking toy with all the gear. Enjoy your time in it & the best years of your life.........
  19. Well done but Im surprised it lasted 30 seconds let alone a few minutes on 30/30lb. Still I know you have to fish that weight in case you do actually catch a 10kg model!
  20. Nice work fisho, so what I was saying in another thread is pretty much spot on! The rats have now become very picky & you really need to be using live baits now. Next Friday Om out there, 1st thing will to get some live yakka's. Thanks for the update
  21. BN mentioned to me he may be heading home Tuesday. Hopefully you will both have better luck next time. Anyway Frank if you feel like some company one day or want another boat to tag along while your doing your testing give me a shout. I often get days off during the week & my fishing buddy just moved to brissy so Im going solo most days in the old 69 sportsman. In saying that I must admit Im dam picky about the days I head out, I only go if the forecast is for up to 10-15kph max as it alway tends to more like 15-20.
  22. Hate to say it but sometimes what the heart wants but mother nature has a different idea regardless. Knowing what was happening I probably would have called it last night. Unfortunate but it has improved a bit this afternoon with the wind although it is drizzling, could have been easier to reschedule for a late session over the morning but Im a morning fisho & if it aint good in the morning I call it for the day. Might be worth another go Monday!
  23. Ok I miss quotes by a small margin, it was 109kph, according to Nine news on the today show this morning.
