  1. @slothparade, this FB group could be of interest to you to join? https://www.facebook.com/groups/284049296150824/?ref=share
  2. Can't say I have any 1st hand knowledge on the units but can sure understand the process in the decision making. The saying is you get what you pay for & there is the decision, spend more & get the better product or get the best for what is within your budget. When I bought my 4x4, yes I would have loved to have been able to afford to get into a Hilux or Landcruiser but reality set in & settle on a Triton which was at the time some 20K cheaper. Still happy with what I have for the price point. At the end of the day it's about value for money & what you can afford. if I could afford it I would get a Minn kota but its not my money ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. They still make the mesh stuff which is available at places like auto parts stores & jaycar. I recently used a combination of both when I did my dual battery system in my 4x4. The mesh was used in the engine bay as it is better for areas where there are tighter bends & the harder ridged tube I used in the exterior where it was up against the chassis rail & areas where the there could be a bit of possible rubbing I think it really depends on where your going to use it as to which one I would use. Both are fire resistant.
  4. Got to love anything DIY ๐Ÿ™‚ Some pictures of the moulds & finished plastics would be great to add to the post
  5. No probs, good luck but I dont see to many people doing what your describing on here. Maybe on the WWW. maybe? In saying that I think there would be people making diy hard bodies out there, never seen it on here.
  6. As they say BN, a bad days fishing better than a good day at work. Looking at the fish your holding I would call that for a great day out ๐Ÿ˜‰
  7. That a cool retro boat for sure & looks in pristine condition! Personally unless your going to do a total refit I like to keep things all original so I wouldn't touch a thing other than getting the motor up to grade & everything lubed. It like those old Chris Craft timber boats, yes restore if need be but keep original imo. Each to their own. Enjoy it whatever you do, great family heirloom
  8. Just reply to your own thread like- Hi all, any updates for me ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Add any further questions if you need to ๐Ÿ˜‰
  9. Quicker & cheaper than going to the fish market ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. You already have a thread running with the same title! Im not sure why you need to start another?? Just bump or tag in on the old thread & it will reappear in the unread posts
  11. Great fish well done Only fish Garie once & didnt even get a bite. But it was just nice to feel the sand between your toes though ๐Ÿ˜Š
  12. Nice work Stewy What is your tackle/rig/bait set up for targeting the hairtail??
  13. Welcome to the forum. I haven't fished that location inside JB but I would see it as a possible decent spot for bream, whiting & small snapper. Personally when I go fishing anywhere I like to take a mixture of everything including SP's, top water lures like poppers & different metals. Have a great holiday
  14. Agree, more like a "gong snapper" None the less @Jp2 a great Red no matter where its pulled from ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  15. I think it would depend on the size/type of the shark your targeting
  16. You've seen some of @JonD's post & he would be.able to direct you better than most. I just think you need a decent gauge hook which could be more important to the size??
  17. Is that when you'll start fishing with a handline to ...................................................................๐Ÿ˜‚ Nice job Yowie, you are the Hacking handline master ninja ๐Ÿค
  18. Imo circle hooks have a curved point which helps in doing its job of helping to hook in the corner of the mouth & self hook up. There are many hybrids or versions of them like circle octopus & other shapes but again imo the curve point defines a circle hook.
  19. Just saw this on the news & the news reader said oh its not a danger to anyone, its not a tornado just a water spout.................. https://www.portnews.com.au/story/7238381/triple-water-spout-action-off-mid-north-coast/ Still I would hate to be sitting in my boat having a fish & one puts down on top of me, let alone 3 ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Apparently 3 turned into 5 a bit later ๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐ŸŒช๏ธ๐ŸŒช๏ธ..........................๐Ÿ˜ฒ Pretty amazing spectacle but dont want to be near one!
  20. Bugger, especially after 2020. But hey if the organizer is crook then cant be helped but disappointing none the less. https://tbft.net.au/2020/01/2020-tournament-april-4-5-6/
  21. On 2nd thoughts it could also be a Tea leaf/Bassy trevally?? Its hard to tell when they are juvinilles.
  22. Looks like some sort of banded perch? Not sure but if I can't identify a fish & I won't eat it.
