    New Workshed

Good job on the new shed looks great & well organised 👍 shame the other one came down so easily looked like you were having a ball
  3. That’s a great looking bit of water & photos I was fully expecting the N.T. fella to be wearing trackies & a beanie but then again fighting 20+ good sized salmon on the light gear would certainly keep you warm 👍
  4. Bummer about the double breakage & the loss of a pair of screamers nevertheless it sounds like you & @tyrone07 ended up having a good day out by persevering 👍
  5. Sounds like one of those days where the weatherman (person) tossed a coin for a bit of an each way, great bag considering & those whales when they come out of nowhere sure can get the old heart pumping nice report & photo 👍
  6. That’s the colour I was hoping for to scratchie 🤞🙏🤞
  7. Mantis shrimp or prawn killer & yes it edible Might as well put it to good use & throw it in tonight’s laksa just make sure it lands in your plate 😂
  8. Hence the old saying never turn your back to the sea & always have one eye on the water
  9. Good one Frank, I’ll be hopefully grabbing a couple if there’s enough to go around at the meet & greet looking forward to catching up & meeting a few more raiders
  10. Good report, photos & feed might be worthwhile to starting bottom bouncing in shallower water on your way out Around the cooler months I’ve picked up blue spots in 20 to 30m & even inside the mouth of broken bay just prior to spring
  11. Most wharfs around Balmain, seen good ones caught at Elliot st wharf among the pylons,Hunters Hill valentia st left hand side, ferry st & Clark’s point, Pulpit point all produce & are reasonably quiet & as Waza mentioned have leather jackets
  12. Now that’s a busy weekend plus a great video, report & photos 👍
  13. Good effort on persisting, last year the squid were easy to come by, for some reason this year has been a bit hit & miss off the rocks, might be to do with the swells knocking around there breeding ground as well as a lack of bait (garfish among others)
  14. Is that the one that had the 3 mermaids on top of it
  15. Wow balls of steel with a lot of bravado & guts thrown into that story Waza & thankfully with a bit of quick life saving luck & common sense 😲
  16. Sounds like another great day out, you’ve certainly got the kingys sussed out. Another epic session Bob 😎 have the cuttlefish started surfacing yet or are you managing to find nice paddle pop sized ones?
  17. Good on you both for getting out there & having a go, great write up & photos, the marinade in your other thread sounds delicious I’ll definitely be giving that go Zoran Good to hear you’ve sorted the tackle issues out, that hook set up I suggested might be more suited to using for livies when bridled for kings & beakies. Good attitude to have & besides us short people don’t have as far to go when gravity is against us 😂 Great editing, running footage & release on you first beakie 👍 Saw the ramora slide out on the deck but didn’t notice the release until the end good effort trying to get it back on its ride 😂
  18. Great effort & report, good to hear he loves his fishing, the little guy looks like the kingy gave him a great tussle 👍
  19. Well done on a great solo session & finding a new mark, nothing better than being away from the masses & getting into a few good ones 👍 some nice fillets in that lot, how was the current
  20. Last year while squidding 2 of us were getting into a few & another bloke wasn’t having much luck & I suggested he come up near where we were, he tried for a while to no avail (newby at it) anyway his gear was near the rock pool I had mine in & like one of those damn pelicans he was there sitting for a while & then left, on returning to the pool with my final squid for the the session which would of been 8 to 30cm hood length I only had five to clean up, I wasn’t to phased though but that friggen pelican after trying to help him managed to get 3 for himself. At the same spot I’ve seen these featherless pelicans try the same thing on with tackle I just stare them down it’s funny how they move off when you turn around & take a couple of steps back towards your gear, bloody mongrels!
  21. Seen that happen quite a few times on the Avoca platform, love the way they go back to where they were & pretend nothing ever happened & then sneak back for another one when your backs turned One time at a cleaning table while sorting some flatties I was distracted by an onlooker when suddenly my hand & flathead disappeared down a pelicans gob
  22. Done a few of those over the years saw one guy drive 61/2 hours only to realise the keys were left on the kitchen table drove half way back to meet up with the half & then drive all the way back again same venue lake jyndabine another bloke in his hast left all his gear behind rather than turning back pulled up at a tackle store on the other side of Cooma & spent $500 odd dollars on rods reels & lures etc 😡 ouch
  23. Good on you for getting out there in those conditions, this time of year that sort of weather really fires them up, hope you had thermals on under your jeans & a good beanie, great write up & photos 👍
