  1. Plus an extra 5 percent discount for fishraiders. I usually use one of the thinner braids in 10 pound mainly cause I do a bit of squidding to and with 12lb leader usually get my jigs back.
  2. Are you planning on fitting a sprinkler system for the trailer wash down at the ramp?
  3. Great report. I received an email from DPI on Monday to say the Sydney North FAD was missing and will be replaced soon.
  4. I haven’t read it but I am really annoyed with politicians meddling at the moment. The fishing lockouts, the mismanagement of the Murry-Darling, the proposed Cruise Terminal at Yarra Bay, rampant developments and general nanny state treatment, it’s a completely crazy with little regard for the people. Their policies and motives completely contradict each other. I do think things would improve with minimising immigration and population growth though. I generally support the LNP but can’t even get a reply to phone calls, messages, emails or letters to the local member. Labour will pander to the greens no good choices....
  5. My understanding is the pros aren’t in Sydney harbour due to the dolioxins. They reason they stopped fishing the bay was a buyout when the fishing licence came out. I would be curious to know if sampling and testing and the information it provides would be different if it was a commercial fishery.
  6. Great work Frank. Thanks for taking the time to take the photos and post it.
  7. Nice to hear you are back on the water Fab. Sounds like a good day on the water, I would struggle to put those tasty whiting back.
  8. It’s hard to beat a feed a flatties, nice work.
  9. It was a nice change for me! Those yakkas can be huge at times. Jibbon area for the squid yesterday.
  10. Sure did. Was a nice day on the water even without fish. Lots of boats out though. I was hoping the full live squid and downrigger might improve my chances of not getting rats. I paid off just! It is good to target the squid and kings and find them both.
  11. The bow riders really are great all rounders for the family. No doubt there are better boats specialized for each activity. They are to beat for the all purpose boat. I had a 5.3 Quintrex freedom sport millennium hill with a 115 Yamaha saltwater for probably 11 years. My current boat is a 5.7 Stacer easy rider with 150 HO Etec which is probably about 4. Both are great boats. Comparing the two the quintrex is more stable and the stacer smoother riding and sportier without compromising the stability to much. So if I had a choice I’d lean towards the Stacer. We never had an issue with the Yamaha but the newer tech Etec is just awesome. I recommend max horsepower on either hull. Telwater could improve attention to detail a lot, the little things let them down somewhat. If I was buying new now I’d be looking towards some of the plate boats that are now doing bowriders as well. I have had mine out to the port hacking fad around 20 ks, the peak, 12 mile and down from port hacking past the humps off the sea cliff bridge about 20-25ks I think. One particular day I did around 100km off shore running around. It’s just a matter of checking the weather. Obviously fibreglass or plate boats would ride through the chop better.
  12. Switching between the ski pole and bait board sure is annoying.
  13. I have been hanging for months to get out for a fish in the boat and today was it. I had an appointment with my daughter early in the arvo so i quick solo session it was. Although it would of been an hour longer had I set my alarm for AM instead of PM🤦‍♂️. I was on the water by 6:30 and managed a couple of squid pretty quick bit that turned out to be all I got in the two hours. I had plans of converting them into a king downrigging. The first squid produced a rat king about 60cm that put up a good fight amongst the moorings before giving up. I didn’t have long so put out my bigger second squid whole as well. After losing his head he got hit with a solid hook up. Turned out to be slightly bigger at 67cm and the second hook foul hooking it. With dinner sorted I was off the water by 11.
  14. I like how you get to keep fishing whilst the kids clean the fish!
  15. Nice catch Scatchie. How’s the water quality at the moment?
  16. What a great and informative report. Those kids getting bored during the hot bite are hard to please, I know the feeling.
  17. Yes mate you will get them near the moored boats there. Just burley up with chicken pellets and mashed up pillies. I usually use a three hook Sabiki with some small bait like pillies. I like to have a bit of wait on the bottom of the rig maybe the size of two peas. Catching bait always seems easier before sun up. You will also occasionally catch pillies there too.
  18. The Navionics app shows you the depths and is probably the easiest way.
  19. Great fishing and report as always Yowie.
  20. There is one under telescopic prawn net on flea bay
  21. I don’t fish for sharks or off the beach but you might enjoy this link.
