Hi All,

Just joined fish raider. I have just changed over from another fishing forum. This fishing forum looks great.

Just picked up a brand new Tournament 1900 Bluewater and still need to get it on the water. My dream is to catch a snapper one day but don't have the experience or i don't know any marks where i can get to. Is there any one out there that can give me a mark or any tips on where to catch this great fish as I would love to give it a go.

If someone will help this would be great.

All the best

Hey Guys,

My name is Ziad, I'm 24 years of age; and have just graduated from university (bbc. accounting). I'm unemployed and spend alot of my days out on the water. I love all forms of angling, problem is I don't own a boat, nor do I drive; luckily my father loves angling as much as I do.

I live in Fairfield and love chasing fresh water mullet on whips and poles around the georges river. I love all forms of angling, I have yet to try game fishing and have just started to get into fly fishing (although no catches yet). I originally began fishing at an early age, however quickly lost interest due to my short attention span and my stubbornness in refusing to eat fish (which still holds). However, within the last three to four years, I have become an addict, and this time there is no going back. Further, I'm a knot freak and have to know all about knot tying. I guess that's part of the addiction.

Lately, I'm into beach and rock fishing and usually use plastics and ordinary bait methods. However my passion is primarily chasing bream, luderick and mullet (both fresh and bullies) on margin poles/whips. I usually fish Kurnell, Port Hacking river system and Chippo. All my fishing is land based and some of my PB's include:

- 52cm sea-mullet (bully) on a 5.3m fishing whip (hell of a fight);

- 44cm fresh water mullet also on the whip;

- 39cm luderick on the whip;

- 52cm flathead of the beach;

- 43cm bream of the beach; and

- 47cm sand whiting of the beach.

If you fishraiders are ever in the area, feel free to pm me and we can arrange an angling expedition...

When I say recently, 5 months ago, but I have just managed to finally read most of the previous posts plus work has prevented me from accessing this website. I have managed to get around that so now I can pay closer attention to this site. :D

Hi

My name is Steve and I live in Woonona.

I am reasonably new to fishing (started properly Dec 2011 and my experience before moving to Wollongong's northern suburbs was limited to mullet creek and lake Illawarra(I was formerly from Berkeley).

I usually spend every waking moment away from work on a rock ledge or beach, though recent reforms to my employer (RailCorp) will probably mean I have more time to fish than I would like....

If anyone is keen to go for a fish up Wollongong's northern suburbs feel free to let me know.

Hi my name is David, and will be 54 this year. Like most of you I too started fishing with my Dad at an early age. I now own a Mariner 31 which is moored on Brisbane Waters NSW, she is an oldie but a goodie the last 18 months my wife and I have done a lot of work to make her ours. I’m just starting to set her up to drown a few prawns while cruising around or more serious stuff with the mates. As for PB’s, mates and I use to hit the Hawkesbury/Pittwater in the 80’s we would bring home meat trays, veggie trays and on night we snagged a $300 jackpot on the pokies at Moonie club, NO fish at all. Ihave been reading lots of your posts and with a bit of luck I'll soon have fish as PB's not meat trays:) So I go boating if I catch any fish it’s a bonus

My name is Craig, I am 37 years old and have been fishing since I was tiny... I started by catching slimies off the wharf at little beach and selling them to all the boat fisherman... Spent most of my youth chasing my grandfather and uncles around Nelson's Bay , bream and black fishing....met my 2 best mates up the bay and was introduced to gamefishing when I was 12 including catching bluefin off the rocks at tomaree head...have caught a lot of very big fish including a great white ... Before they were protected and had the pleasure of being involved in hooking 5 stripe marlin at once in the late 90's ... Have just found the forum... Am lucky to fish off a 47 ft O'Brien ... A brilliant Aussie made boat... Have a smaller boat on the way from the US will keep u guys posted of how I tame the Harbour kingies once it arrives,,,

Some of my best catches... A108.5 kg stripe marlin on 10kg and one of my big sharks...3aac0bcd-2c9b-60fa.jpg3aac0bcd-2caa-f29d.jpg

G'day!

Name's Tony.

6YYSF.jpg

I enjoy a good Freshwaster flick more than anything else, quiet kayaking for Bass would be up there.

Recently lots of saltwater action due to winter. Still deciding weather I'm as much a fan (land locked) but it doesn't stop me hitting up the Sydney harbour borders daily.

Say g'day if you see me out there.

Good on ya.

Gday all, Drew here. I'm 31 and lucky enough to live in Port Stephens... so plenty of saltwater options close by. I have fished since I was a kid but still very much an amateur. My Dad must have had a soft spot for Hunter River Hexham because we always went there. I don't know why there in particular though as he spent most of the time fixing our snags. You know what, he never got mad though. I guess patience makes a good fisherman. Thankfully Dad has a 3.8 Quintrex these days which gets us about the estuaries. I'm really enjoying beach fishing at the moment (Stockton of course) but I've only produced Aus Salmon so far. Looking forward to hooking something tastier soon. My PB fish is a 67cm Kingy caught on off-shore charter from Wooli. I have a photo but sorry it's on my broken laptop at the moment. Cheers guys and girls!

Hi All,

Kel here, also known as Choicebro.

Recently relocated by work back to Syndey(Cronulla) after spending 4 years in Newcastle NSW.

Originally from the South Island of NZ, moved out here 8 yrs ago.

Keen fisherman and have done a fair bit of Scuba Diving in my time, although these days it is more fishing than diving with time permitting around work travels.

Currently fishing from a 12ft tinny but will be upgrading this in the next week or so.

Will post a pic of the new rig once i get it so you can come and say hello.

Cheers

G'day Fisho's,

I'm Steve, I'm 47 and have been an avid fisherman for over 40 years. These days I specialise in beach fishing although I've done plenty of game and general offshore fishing over the years. My other passion is 4wd'ing and if I can combine both then I'm a happy camper. I've fished many places around Australia as I travelled in my younger days before marriage and mortgages such as Steep Point WA, Rottnest Island, the West Coast of South Australia beyond Fowlers Bay, and numerous other places through SA and VIC and up the east coast.

These days I go for quality more so than quantity and try to organise one or two major treks each year to somewhere fantastic. Last year this was an extended stay on Fraser Island which was my 5th visit but the first for the family. My next major trek looks like the west coast of SA again after 20 years and I'm in the early stages of planning that one. My philosophy is the tougher the terrain to get to your spot the more likely the fishing will be sensational and if it isn't, getting there was still fun.

Hallo everyone,

first i like to say you got a good site running here with good info to read and things to learn.

My name is Klaus and I like to introduce myself to you.

I am in my early 50tis a Toolmaker by trade and know live for almost 10 years in Australia. Coming from Germany I have got a poor fishing background :closedeyes: !

I bought me a few rod and reels over the time and tried some beach fishing with little success :whistling: .

I live in the Campbelltown area and go for fishing usually to the Georges River around Picnick Point or to the beaches between Stanwell Park and Bulli.

I would also like to go onto the Rocks, but because of a lack of knowledge and fishing partner I rather stick to the beach and the river it`s saver so I reckon :)!

Cheers Klaus!

Hello everyone, my name is Anthony, I now live on the beautiful south coast at Maloneys Beach just out of Batemans Bay for those who don't know, was born and bred in the Northern Territory, was always out on the barra up north, then family committment took me to the dark and dreary state of Victoria (no offence to anyone) where I spent a few years chasing Murray Cod.

Now very much enjoying the south coast, have a little 1970 3.9 quinny that has been in the family for a long time, and has never let me down, that is always seen just outside Maloneys nearly every other weekend, mainly targeting Flatty and whatever else grabs my hook, also don't mind a feed of squid, but please don't tell anyone, apparently it's a secret here.

That about covers the very short story of me, hope to get to know most you, will most likely sit in the back ground for a while, then jump in the deep end.

looking for forward to the education you guys and girl will give me.

Cheers................
