  1. Great photo. Photos usually don’t show how bad the condition’s are really like. It must have been crook.
  2. Your doing some hard yards there Hill, I hope you get some rewards mate.
  3. There a few types of Sergeant Majors and most go under the common name "Sergeant Majors" The official common name of this one is Bengal Sergeant though the Australian Museum calls it a Narrow-Banded Sergeant but both have the Latin name as Abudefduf bengalensis ................... Why, I have no idea. Thats above my pay grade 😄
  4. Great write up, story and pics. Thanks for taking the time as it was a great read.
  5. Great story again Waza, thanks for taking the time to write it up and post it.
  6. What a fantastic report Isaac, some great fish there which makes a lot of us very jealous. Thanks for taking the time to write it up and post all the photos mate.👍
  7. Great report LF with a couple of more tropical species thrown in which are not seen at Meadowbank. Also you could have called you post “ Under the Bright Lights” and I recon you had more success outside the Casino than in it to. Yes I recon that’s a GT.
  8. What LF said mate. PM me anytime.
  9. And now Neil, let’s not talk about “Lures”. It seems that people who have a profile use these, best, must, have, caught all my fish on .. Etc pieces of wonders, as you just previously said The best thing since sliced bread. But by my reckoning the fish must wise up to them as each year as they keep releasing new models.Bloody smart fish.
  10. That’s what fishings about I recon. Great read that said it all.
  11. Good work and certainly looks heaps of fun. 3lb is challenging stuff but you nailed it.
  12. I recon that’s a Paradise Threadfin Bream (Pentapodus paradiseus.)

What they said riveRecon, beast of a tiller steer to.
  14. Fantastic photo Miniken.
  15. Someone must like it because a lot of people doing the holiday thing. Not for me but maybe I’m to old and lost that sense of adventure …… for going away in peak times that is.
  16. That certainly rang a bell Frank so I did a search and found it closed in 2018. I could be wrong but I thought at one stage they had a Sunfish and were trying to feed it boiled eggs as there was a photo attached to the story. I can’t remember if it survived to be released but it didn’t work out. They also may have tried to keep a Tiger shark at one stage. As for the fishing, sorry got nothing.
  17. That’s amazing footage there Mike, though I’m not sure if I would like to be there when a big East Coast Low was just off Sydney. They were the days, Rollies, Long Necks and braces says to me it was a much simpler time.
  18. All good @Isaac Ct the bars on the side was a bit confusing as the only other type I could think of was a Onion Trevally which look similar to yours but have a spot on the gill plate, but they don’t come that far south, though by saying that one has just been recorded in the last couple of weeks down in Perth on the west coast which is a long way south of where it’s been previously recorded. I recon @dirvin21 nailed it. 👍 ……. Till some one corrects us 😀 Certainly not a common capture in Sydney.
  19. Any other photo of the fish @Isaac Ct. The reason I ask is that your finger is over the gill cover and it would help with the ID of the fish. Well it would help to dismiss a couple of other Trevally types. Thanks mate
