  1. Welcome to the forum @Admis. It always help you to do a forum search first to see if there is any existing content on your subject. You might get something from this particular one. There may be others relating just to land based so it up to you to do some research. You could also PM scratchie. Good luck.
  2. Nice work Rick, at least there is normally somewhere at Broughton you can be protected from the wind when your sitting it out πŸ‘
  3. The fish your describing are native species, the fact that they may be around what you would call not usual habit just a part of evolution. Species move following food or warmer currents. https://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:afd.taxon:43e13442-afd0-443b-96fb-9a462eeea542 The day I can catch Coral trout in Sydney I will rejoice & probably go out & buy a bottle of Penfolds Grange to enjoy with if for dinner 😁 But your right in that if you do catch a species like carp then I believe its against the law to actually return it, & if its some unusual or foreign species then report it to the DPI or equivalent body. Id be more worried about the crown of thorns star fish consuming the Great Barrier Reef or the cane toads reaching Sydney, also the effects on the country from introduced feral species like pigs, foxes. cats, dogs, goats, rabbits, deer. And I certainly wont be donating any money to some Tsethar Buddhist group, Id rather donate to our farmers or another needy Australian charity where it will actually have a good effect for us!
  4. Welcome to the forum. Compliance between the states varies so it will need to meet NSW regs. Here is what towing trailers needs to meet in NSW- https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/safety-rules/road-rules/towing.html Then you will need to do this- https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/transfer-or-register-interstate-vehicle#introduction If you need more information it would be best to contact the NSW RMS. Also its always a good idea to do a forum search for similar threads-
  5. Both great responses above, unweighted with cooked peeled prawns work will with lots of free line out & let it run for a while before you strike. Some small hard bodies like Atomic bream crank or similar worth a shot.
  6. If I was to spend 5 hours on the water to catch just 3 fish like that then I would becoming home extremely happy 😁
  7. Be careful what you wish for. The day you start catching Barra in Sydney harbour is the day you will have to start fending off the crocs & the cane toads πŸ˜‚
  8. Don't get to far ahead of yourself young fella πŸ˜‚ But just suggesting you respect the fish your keeping OR returning mate, not hard to do
  9. Kings can be anywhere in the harbour or its rivers/estuaries at any location or time. You just have to be in the right place at the right time & use whatever for bait that they are in the mood for. No answers from me but hey throw out a stick bait & you might get on, throw out a livey on a balloon & you might get on, throw out a metal or SP & you never know, life is like a box of chocolates......……………………. & so is catching kingfish.
  10. I believe technically its like any other vehicle & NSW RMS gives you 3 months to transfer the rego over, after that you could incur a fine as whatever you own vehicle wise needs to match the address on your licence, its for CTP insurance purposes!! As long as you have proof of purchase & or signed registration transfer papers then it wont be an issue up to the 3 months. Contact the RMS for the actual right information would be my call!! https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/transfer-or-register-interstate-vehicle https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/registration/get-nsw-registration/index.html#Interstatevehicles
  11. Its called a hydrofoil & the jury is still out imo on there effectiveness, sometimes causing more stabilization problems than benefits! Have a read through some old threads & make up your own mind- Better weight distribution helped me out but more power would be handy
  12. Made these 2 in pretty quick time. After the 1st try I need to enlarge the holes a little more. I used some dry cat food, bread & tuna oil.
  13. Great work πŸ‘Œ But do yourself & the fish you have to return to the water a favour & get yourself a measuring mat over the tape measure.
  14. Always the way it goes right πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
  15. If your intentionally seeking Mulloway then as you say maybe using 8lb isn't the best idea?? In saying that if its 8lb main line braid then just up the leader a bit to maybe 12/16lb?
  16. Nice beach that one 😊 Also if you get on the M5 & head south to appin rd you can access mostof woolongong beaches within 1.5hrs Edit more like 45 mins from CT Ever garey!
  17. Whatever floats your boat Fish caught, enjoyed, released. End of storyπŸ‘
  18. Maybe have a read through the post mate, its next year 🀣
  19. I think its just one of those things that is open to interpretation, from what the OP is saying he is skipping a surface lure on the surface hence 'top water' even if it is in 18 inches of water. Anyway whatever you want to call it, it worked 😁 Good luck to him πŸ˜‰
  20. Well I guess thats your opinion, not sure about the ones your referring to? Anyway these are both of Australian standard & level 150 means acceptable for open water. Jim was actually asking about something suitable for rock fishing that wasnt bulky that wouldn't interfere with fishing. Just giving 2 examples of what thought would meet the criteria?
  21. You need to know your total draw of all the things being used to calculate not only the amount of amp hour battery you would need as well as the discharge rate. There are calculators that can help you find the answer to this but you need to find out how many watts/amps the different items use- https://www.centurybatteries.com.au/products/deep-cycle/deep-cycle-power-calculator Personally I would be leaving the existing set up alone if it works, put the 2nd battery(AGM) in the bow. There are other options like you suggest by putting the single battery to replace the other but the bigger the amp/h needed the bigger & heavier they are, you could also run the existing & the 2nd together with an isolator & use them separately or together. If you have a look via the search tab you can see what others have done, like these threads.
  22. Yep recycle them, don't take them to A-League matches
